Hi, I purchased a TOMTOM One XL for my Wife as a Christmas present, initially the device seemed to work well in my 1998 XJ8 Soveriegn. However, since May when the device become unreliable, in fact unusable in the XJ I have been having discussions with TOMTOM regarding their product. After much heated debates and the device being returned to TOMTOM's repair centre in Scotland, they finally arranged for it to be returned to their main centre in Amsterdam. On all occasions the device was found to be working correctly, however and credit to TOMTOM they eventually agreed to replace the device to maintain (improve) Client satisfaction.
Has any one had problems with TOMTOM or similar SatNav systems working in the XJ or perhaps know of reasons why they may fail to recieve a GPS signal from the satelites? To my knowedge (and confirmed by TomTom) the car does not have any form of special "thermo reflective" screen, neither is it heated.
