i treated my 108k mile 1999 Sov to a home service today...
she got a new Genuine Jag filter ( £9 ), and some nice new Mobil 5w30 semi-synthetic oil , along with some oil treatment ( £5 ),
there is a trick to draining the oil, as the best way is to slightly jack up the near side to allow the oil to drain towards the drain plug on the off side of the engine after the engine has been allowed to warmup at tick-over.....
ensure all precautions are taken when jacking up the car....
while i was at it , i change the auto serpentine belt tensioner, ( more of that in another post ) and the jockey wheel....
fitted a new Genuine Jaguar wiper blade ( £12 )
gave the K&N filter a clean , and cleaned out the throttle body with some carb cleaner and an old toothbrush,
and used some spray white grease around the hinges and lock catches etc
finally , i gave the front metalwork in and around the suspension a good spray with black waxoyle protection, just to keep the surface rust at bay , as well as the front subframe mounts etc
