Thanks for that BB. I happen to known that the local Jag Specialist I use has an X308 from which he "rabbits" spare parts - and the ash tray is in working order! The only problem is that the trim colour is wrong. His is 'cream' or 'doeskin'; mine is 'warm charcoal', otherwise known as 'black'. Is it...

Front Centre Ash Tray Lid
For no apparent reason the lid of the front centre ash tray will not stay in the CLOSED position. Is there a spring clip which may have broken - and if so, how do I access it? How big a "lump" do I need to source to make it work? Any guidance much appreciated.

Technical opinion please Joe ............. when charging the battery, whether for short or long periods, is it necessary/unnecessary/essential/advisable to disconnect the terminals. Techie friends have been aghast when I have NOT done so in the past, but it doesn't seem to have done any harm. What i...

Many thanks u1 - joejag kindly ran a check with his local Jag Dealer and identified JLM11965 for the a/c display (2 required), JLM20308 and JLM 20309 (blue and green respectively) for the a/c switches. I need to establish whether my car has blue or green fitted, as I understand one bulb only illumin...

Part Numbers for Centre Console Bulbs
Does anyone know the correct Part Nos for (a) the temperature display and (b) the AC/Auto bulbs for my 1998 X308? I ask because the local Main Dealer has supplied the wrong bulbs to my Jaguar Specialist in the past - and I don't want to strip down the centre console only to find I have the wrong bul...

Job "jobbed"! Bulb obtained from Main Dealer in Southampton; they had to order it but it arrived next day. The Part No. was invaluable as they had previously supplied the wrong clock bulbs to my Jag Specialist. He's happy too 'cos he now has the Part No. - and he fitted it in approx 20 minutes and c...

Hi Guys, Have spoken with the Jaguar Specialist I use regularly. He confirms that two wooden panels need to be removed - the one surrounding the clock and air vents plus the one covering the passenger air bag. This enables the clock/vents to be reached. I am getting the bulb (thanks for the Part No....

Clock Illumination
Simple question - hopefully with a simple answer! The (time) clock in the centre of the dash is not illuminated when my lights are switched ON. Can someone advise please? Does it have it's own bulb? and if so, how does one get to it?
Thanks in anticipation,
Mike

Agree Paul - that is not good! The weird thing is that if you click on the Website Link for BHP Automotive (in the JEC online directory) it actually takes you to BHP Automotive Training - which makes no mention of any Jaguar or other practical mechanics connection. Clicking the "Contact" button brin...

I have just found the on-line directory of Jaguar Specialists, Suppliers etc and would like to congratulate all those concerned in its construction. For those who haven't yet tried, go to the members' home page (the one with the list of Forums down the right hand side) and click on the "Recommended ...

Don't know how relevant this is, but I use an iPod Nano in the car, courtesy of an iTrip Auto FM Transmitter Smartscan. Purchased on eBay and details can be seen at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220392850765. I have the iTrip plugged in to the rear cigarette lighter, the iTrip...

Steve, Classified Ads on this website is a good source. "Gordon" is currently advertising 15 years worth of magazines FREE to anyone able to collect from him in Gloucester. Ad was placed 7 June so don't know if still available. His phone number 07711 577618. Worth a try if you live within a reasonab...
