I have now decided to finally sell my XK8 4.2S advertised in JEC classified

The video on YouTube was brilliant and as a result I have replaced the latch on my XK and successfully sorted the problem, so thank you for your help and advice once again.

Update I decided to try and test the canister and solenoid I have removed from my car in my amateur way, I found the solenoid clicks with power and I can blow through it and not when power is disconnected, and the canister I can blow through from one direction and not the other. Can anyone help find new replacements for the purge valve canister etc, I not sure of the correct name for the parts or which is the correct part number, please see photos attached

Thank you for the YouTube link, that is exactly my issue, I am having the tracking done next week and fault codes read then I will take the lock out to identify the actual part number on the lock as my car is a late X100 and I don’t know if the locks changed over time. I did the test suggested by Astromorg and found I get no message or red light to inform me the passenger door is open but I get both when the drivers door is open, thoughts please
