Help with steering jumps
I was turning the car in the car park yesterday and on full lock the wheel seemed to suddenly be able to, shall we say move that little bit extra... When I went to move the car today and drive down the road the wheel would seem to turn as if it was slipping a cog or something. I felt that I wouldn't...

Battery Isolator
With all this talk of flat batteries, has any one fitted a battery isolator switch to their car similar to one that is used on yachts?
My Maserati had one fitted and I am thinking of fitting one to my XJS.
If someone has what kind of earthing straps did you use?

Brake Shields
Hi Franrca, I've just got some and had them fitted to my XJS because I have chrome like Polished celebration wheels. I brought the versions with the little vents in for brake cooling (TUV approved) but they do seem to keep an amount of dust off of the wheels. Have a look at www.kleen-wheels.co.uk yo...

Help! Oil dripping out.
Hi Tony, 'I guess success just isn't my style' Seem to have had a run of bad luck with this car. So far I've had to have a restoration done, and my school boy errors have cost me a small fortune. Only driven it 4 times since I got it for my birthday in october. It's cost me even more than when I own...

Help! Oil dripping out.
Well thanks for everyones advice and help. I decided to go with the Oil cooler.
Unfortunately while I was jacking the car up it slipped off of the jack and put a hole in the sump, so a small oil leak turned into a torrent, opps.
Anyone know how Exxon did the clean up...

Hi Paul, Yep the car wasn't registered till '98 which is a bit wrong but there you go. I'm transferring it to a P/Plate now so it won't look so strange. I will fill in the register and put some pics up (when I get some) as she looks fantastic after a mild bit of surgery... The car is a 4.0 ltr if th...

Please can any one point me in the right direction. After finally getting my car on the road since December. I decided to take her on a reuniting drive, which was nice. On bringing her home today just before returning her to bed for the week, some one pointed to a puddle of OIL on the floor... ...on...

I've seen a lot of this type of work being done at Clarkes Jaguar. They did a really nice job on a red car that I saw there before xmas. They do take a while, but then again it could be worth it.
My car is there now, having quite a bit done. I can let you know how it goes.

Would this leaper be legal on car......
Obviously the leaper you described was for the lesser (meaning smaller, of course) X types and any real Jaguars (that being, slightly bigger) would have a correspondingly sized leaper...

Does anyone have any experience with them, I have been there they have one hell of a great collection and really seem to know a lot about XJS's. If anyone could tell me of their experiences I would appreciate it, it's always good to have referrals and knowledge of who should work on your car.

Thanks JBB, From what I understand you are spot on with the heating thing however, I have since just replaced the whole unit with the help from those that replied here. Now I have moved on to the rear radius arms, front subframe mounts and maybe I'll give the front bearings a go... Any suggestions? ...
