Re: Immobiliser Fault?
Not a daft question - we have lubricated the mechanism but to no avail. Re windows stuck open - this doesn't apply in case. All I have to do is re-program the auto opening/closing as per the handbook. John

Immobiliser Fault?
On my 2002 Sport - sometimes on turning off the ignition and removing the key the 'tumblers?' do not go across. The result is that on replacing the key and turning on the ignition all the appropriate dash lights come on, but the starter does not operate - the engine does not start! A notice 'Steerin...

Re: 2003 S- Type Jaguar 2.5 V6 Sport – Mr Cat - One Year on - Mileage now 153,000
Hi - great to read of your S type Sport. I ,too, have a 2.5 Sport - 2002 Reg (one of the early ones,) with 155000+ on the clock. BP51 KUA was originally a Jaguar Company car, before passing through several hands, and ending up with me some 8 years ago. She is Aspen Green with Tan upholstery which ap...

Re: Replacing bulbs in the radio in the central console
Hi - I have the same problem with my 2002 S type Sport. I changed the radio console for a s/hand one, but the discrepancy in lighting remains the same. I put a post on this subject some time ago but I have had no replies. Whether this is a built in fault ( difficult to believe that Jaguar turn out n...

Fuel filler latch
My fuel filler cover would not latch and stay shut. Investigation revealed slight kink in the release cable in the boot. Straightening this will cure the problem. A new assembly (unobtainable new) is not required!

Hidden rust - rear wheel arches
If you remove the rear wheel arch liners, you will find an insulating? pad inside the rear part of the wheel arch. Remove this and in all likelihood you will find that the arch has rusted through. This will also be apparent if you remove the boot carpet covering the wheel arch. Not cheap to repair. ...

Heater Vents In Dash
2002 my. Is it possible to remove the air vents in the dash from the front. The vanes have struck and I would like to free them off, but don't want to strip the dash. I have tried spraying lubricant in from the front to no avail. If I can prise them out, will they go back easily?

Re: Early X202 S type
Thanks guys. As I suspected there is no easy answer. Anyway, I can't claim that my S type is anything special!! Although Aspen green/blue metallic with Heritage Tan interior does appear to be unusual. The tan is a very servicible colour, much more so than cream/ivory which we have in a Rover.

Early X202 S type
Hi Guys, I'm trying to ascertain when the X202 Series was released to the public. I believe it was early 2002 although some sources say 2003 which I know is wrong. My S type chassis no.M45329 is one of the earliest of the series and was first registered to Jaguar Cars Ltd. Company Vehicles, Browns L...

Re: Whine in Auto Gearbox
Hi thanks for that. I'll investigate the gearbox additive. Re the steering, I have used the additive with mixed results. For the most part the noise has disappeared but does return from time to time. I suspect that weather conditions have an effect, by I can't narrow it down.

Whine in Auto Gearbox
Hi Guys ,Here's one I haven't seen mentioned. 2002 2.5 petrol S type. 120,000 miles, 6 speed auto. On acquisition, on general advice, I had oil/filter changed by a reputable specialist, S & P autos. Since then it has developed a noise not previously there. When pulling steadily from 1750 to 2000: re...

Wheel arch repair panels.
Hi, Does anyone supply good quality repair panels for the front wheel arches. There is a little bubbling rust on my offside, probably caused by previous accident damage ( before my ownership) not being properly repaired. I have had the rust ground out , filled and resprayed by a 'scratch and chip' s...
