Re: XF Meeting Duxford (May 2014)
38 or so XFs at Jaguars at the Castle in the stand (XKR Rally for Heroes car, a X Type and an Aston there as well) plus a few unusal XFs and a few more that didn't make cut off as field pretty full on a glorious day. Lots of other XFs in gereral parking and a few in some of the local JEC stands.

Re: Ian Callum`s Mk2 Jaguar.
Yep not keen on bumpers, front spoiler lights and side vents and vented full filler(?) thing at back.
Much better to make a mistake here than on the day job though

Re: 5.0litre V8 AJV8 engine oil
Oil change today plus oil filter and both airfilters. Friend came over with a vacuum oil pump (Sealey TP69 I believe). All OK but needed to use a short bit of pipe/tube from old camelback as a sleeve connector and a small bit of tape to enlarge the Sealey pipe. 10-15 pumps and extracted 5 litres the...

Wheel nut casings slight movement
I've seen a few posts on the S Type forum regarding wheel nut and locking wheel nut failures. So in 6 months or so I've had front wheels off 1.5 times and tightened back up with a torque wrench. First time to sort a bit of corrosion on the anti rattle caliper clips and second time for FRS wheel to i...

Re: Dunlop Tyres
Tried to check earlier today but had an internet problem - a credit for the % reamaining wear seems to be a recurring theme as quite a few cracks on XFs and also Dunlops on other cars from some userss of other forums.

Re: Classic Le Mans 2014
Did you have Good trip bigcat? Also how was the JEC trip? Pretty good/excellent event overall and want to go back in 2 years time. Loads to see and hear. We survived the showers mainly at camp under a big event shelter and rested from sun at other times. Drove down and camped with a couple of Porsch...

Re: 5.0litre V8 AJV8 engine oil
Welcome Phil
Good value as bought some a few week ago from them on a previous offer. Not so keen on their oil finder by registration which seems to direct you to different grades. Quick delivery too.
Have you done a change using a vacuum pump Phil?

Re: Paint Colours
Estimate using autotrader sample? 1,500 or so out of approx 106k registered and SORN in UK at end of last year. If you know when colour was available and on what models you might be able to cut it down by looking at certain ages etc. (how many left etc show current cars by year in certain views) 98 ...

How many left site and XF UK engine split
Approximate information for UK registrations and SORNs with splits based on DVLA categorisation. Couldn't find the overall UK engine split figures a while back. http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/family/jaguar_xf_series#!engine Going in through A-Z Index for Jaguar, XF Series etc gives 50 or so models (lo...

Re: Bulb Failure and dash board alarms
HI rosemary
Might want to check on S Type board as well but I don't think I had a warning light on dash when XF main beam went. My old TT pings and flashes up a warning all the time.

Re: Cam Belts
Hi David Had a 2.7d manual in a S before the XF and understand that the 3.0d has sequential turbos to increase throttle response and also improve torque at lower revs and reduce the hole in the rev band where not much happened. So think the 2nd generation 3.0 engine had good increase in power and to...

Re: Lightweights to be produced
Presumably only those with deep pockets need apply - wonder if any will actually ever see the road...... Telegraph story says Jaguar trying to get drivers who will drive them on road and have a £1m. But also said 17 acres at Brown Lane was retained and going to be hand built there at new Heritage c...
