Re: Following on from the Seminar...XJS Workshops: a suggest
Hi BB you are right; it is just your car club. This certainly helps temper the impact of the overtly defensive comments, challenges and 'advice' I have received within the responses contained in this post. In truth, perhaps i am better leaving well alone as i am genuinely not sure I feel comfortable...

Re: Following on from the Seminar...XJS Workshops: a suggest
Brian H Thank you for your support. I think a basic assumption prevailing in a number of posts is if you have bought an XJS then clearly you know how to maintain them. Sadly, a number of us don't - hence me trucking my XJS from Suffolk to David Marks for a report on her condition. What also feels lo...

Re: Following on from the Seminar...XJS Workshops: a suggest
Hi Ray, As you rightly say, consensus decides and rightly so. However, I don't agree a delegate would spend £500: the seminar hotel was only £43 inc breakies. Also, I can confirm I have hired tutors for weekend courses at the rates I suggested, meaning I am not too wide of the mark. I am also resign...

Re: Following on from the Seminar...XJS Workshops: a suggest
Hi all, I'd just like to re-affirm the original 'blue sky' idea was really basic maintenance, changing of fluids, brake pads, top bushes, etc. As I am not expert I have no idea what a Scheme of Works for basic maintenance would look like although you could do worse than base it off an XJS service sc...

Re: Following on from the Seminar...XJS Workshops: a suggest
Hello Ray, Thank you for the in depth response. The challenges faced by way of a 'hands on' event at first could look prohibitive along with the inherent H+S blame culture in the event of a 'what if' scenario. However, a number of potential shortcuts could also exist to overcome some of the problems...

Re: Replacement Aircon system
I'm due with David Marks next Mon/Tues. I will pose the question on fitting a new entire system then as it seems a potentially cheaper proposition to labouring with an unreliable old unit.

Following on from the Seminar...XJS Workshops: a suggestion
Having thoroughly enjoyed David Marks scaring me, I have wondered whether there is support/interest in possibly running a more hands on course covering basic servicing procedures of our cars. I accept there are a number of potential prohibitive factors. However, I would personally jump at the chance...

Replacement Aircon system
Hi All, This is purely blue sky thinking but, given the issues that appear quite regularly with the aircon, i am wondering if anyone has ever considered/completed replacing it with another make such as Eberspacher? I have no idea if this is even an engineering possibility but would interested in you...

Finally Driven
First Impressions: What can i say? Other than wow! Although it has @ the same number of horses and weighs more than my Z3, the power delivery and ride feel assured and clearly capable of making progress. It is a hell of a car and I am very, very pleased I own one. I just hope the wallet doesn't get ...

Re: Garage mark up on parts
Hi Charlie, Every decent business deserves the opportunity to make money and thrive as rent, rates, staff, equipment are not free. I honestly believe what is crucially overlooked on a consistent basis is actual customer service linked to communication on what is going on! In order to receive the lev...
