D14PAX Home at last
I drove it for the first time in about 13 years today. It drives like an old car, but what a lovely old car. Engine smooth a silk even with 113k. It squeaks a bit, but perhaps that will go with time and use. Still a work in progress ( always will be I guess ) Fuel gauge stopped working today, Interi...

D14 PAX is back
Morning all, after some 12-13 years my Dad's Blue XJSC is going to be back on the road, some of you may remember Archie and his car. It has had a lot of work done on the body, rust removal etc, new panels, paint. It has been taken to Peter Thurston Jaguar in Hillborough, Kent and they have gone thro...

Re: Oil Pressure
Thank you, that helps a lot. It shows above 50 at 2000rpm so that's good news allowing for some inaccuracy on the guage. I hope it will get better as the car gets used. Out early this morning and for the last two days the temp guage showed over N all the time. This morning rose to N and pretty much ...

Re: New member well known car and previous owner
Steve, Welcome to the JEC and also to the Bulletin Board! First of all my belated condolences to you on Archie's passing. I had many conversations and meetings with him over the years and in fact the last time I saw him was last year at Keith Parrington's when he made me a cup of tea! He was clearl...

Oil Pressure
Getting to grips with the 3.6 XJ-SC. Not knowing to trust the gauges completely. The oil pressure guage shows Just over 50 when cold. Drops to about 40 when hot at idle and rises quickly to about 60 when on a run. Would this indication be acceptable on a 112000 miler ? Smokes a touch on hard acceler...

Re: New member well known car and previous owner
Been using the car over the last 3 days and really enjoyed myself. Loaded up the wife, put the roof down and took an hours drive to Smarden, Kent across country. Had some lunch in The Smarden Bell. Great venue and well worth a visit, private parking, large olde world pub. Food was very nice indeed. ...

Instrument lights not working
Hi all Picked up my Dads car yesterday and last night noticed all dash lights are out. Most of the warning lights work correctly except oil pressure light is not illuminating. Interior lights work now after fuse change and I have checked every fuse inside the car and they are all good. The specific ...

New member well known car and previous owner
Hello all, well after sometime and a couple of derisory offers for the car I have decided to keep it for now and see how Jaguar ownership suits me. My dad is Archie Paxman and I now have his car residing on my driveway, following his death in January this year. Some of you may know him and perhaps m...
