Back in 1950/51 Jaguar produced a booklet or bulletin called “Tuning Modifications on XK120 cars for Competition Purposes”. Does anyone know if it’s available online?

What was good for RR is good for Jaguar. But: is it the same product now as then? Many things are not.

I’m replacing exhaust gaskets and am finding difficulty in locating a sealant. Most of the modern products seem to be replacements for the traditional gasket rather than sealing supplements. What product would you suggest for a sealing supplement to add to the traditional type of gasket?

The early type 5.5 ins mk 1 brake servo is apparently unobtainable, as are parts for overhaul. So a simple question: does anyone know if the later and larger MK II brake servo will retro fit the MK 1 cars?

Success! It was poor a poor connection, a combination of looseness and "green" contamination. So thanks again. Very rewarding to fix these things oneself. Paul .. Re pulling the instrument cluster: is it fairly easy to do this without disconnecting other wiring? I tried tentatively and there seems a fair amount of resistance to it coming forward....

David, you mentioned wiring in the boot. Can you advise what to look for, for example, the colour coding of speedo wiring? Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Trip and fuel seem to be working ok. So I guess that points to the speedo head. Also other dash gauges, including rev counter are working fine so it definitely isn't the controlling fuse.

My speedo has stopped working. From memory the speedos on earlier cars were cable driven but later ones like mine are electrically driven? Is that correct? Any advice appreciated on removal of the dash/speedo. Also can you tell me where the electrical take off points are for the speedo? I was wonder...
