Re: put my private plate on the X-type today
I transferred my private plate from my X type to my XKR and it still makes people smile, or even laugh out loud, but that's why I bought it.

Aerial
On my cleaning of The Dragon I noticed that the aerial appears to be a 5 piece telescopic unit but only 3 of mine come out, the top 2 smaller one and the larger base one. Is it a 5 piece unit and 2 are just sticking? If so I will try the trusty fish oil (WD 40). Not going to try anything more drasti...

It's brilliant, absolute magic. Did the whole of the XK in 1 hour 40 mins and it normally takes about 3 hours (for me). ...

Re: Considering an X type as a run about?
I bought an 02 plate X type last year. 3.0lt Sport manual, touch screen sat nav, air con, full leather, heated windows etc. etc. Cost £2700. Well pleased with it. Used it as a run around so mainly short trips hence only returned 19mpg, but as my total mileage was low it didn't matter. I believe peop...

Re: New member from Bavaria
xk8 OR xkr ......... It's purely a matter of your own personal choice, whichever gives you what YOU want. From a cost point of view R's are generally more expensive than 8's to buy so you could get a newer 8 on your budget or a slightly older R. I don't know what the difference is in insurance betwe...

Re: New member from Bavaria
Hi Jimmy, good luck with AutoTrader, I've found it pretty informative. I have a few pictures of "The Dragon" in the Photo Gallery on this site which is worth looking at for ideas. ( I mean the whole gallery, not just my little contribution!)
