Bob Bate just replaced mine when it failed in his workshop as mentioned above. It is an ExideEB712 , it is the correct fit and the roght battery terminals. Rating is 670 amps. Just over £50 delivered to him.

That is what I was thinking as it looks like the oil pump causes ann issue. I was wandering if I could kack the engine slightly also?
Such a pain to get the engine out to change a gasket.

I have just had mine all my suspension refurbished by Bob Bate and he recommended using OEM components as others he had found far too harsh unless you are going racing! Pleased with the resultant ride.

I seem to have a leak from the sump gasket area (after having all other culprits repaired). The question is can I remove the sump with the engine in situ? Advice please.

On mine the air filter has a rubber ring which locates on the aluminium housing. Ohterwise no 'pad'.

Probably the linkage not working or the rods bent etc. Will probably have to remove the door cards to check the situation. It is a simple mechanism that operates the doors.

One way to keep the under bonnet temperature down is to have the manifolds sprayed by Zircotec. They come highly recommended by Practical Classics in the past.
