Re: Steering Shake
Sir, I would strongly recommend having your wheel alignments checked by someone in the "alignmycar" group. They are on the web. They have fancy laser type equipment which I believe is very good. I had my XJ6 done 3 years ago and all wheels were out of spec, including the back wheels. I had a one yea...

Thanks Mike, for the wheel nut torque ; I didn't know that.
I'll nip mine up a bit.
Best,

Re: Wheel nuts sheered off
Venge, The hub that carries the sheared off stud will, in my opinion, need replacing. The reason is that I think the stud head will be splined and as has already been said, new splined studs will be hard to find. Take a couple of photos and email Eurojag in Darlington; they'll have a spare hub or th...

Buying an X-type - advice sought,please
My Manager fancies an X-type! (I have an XJ6 V6 2003 90k miles which is a cracker). What model/engine size would the team recommend for my good lady? It has to be automatic, and an estate may be a bit "big" for her. What about 4 wheel drive models - reliability mainly - there seem to be several abou...

Re: Tyre pressures
Phil/Venge, I have exactly the same sized wheels and tyres - 235/55-17 on an 03 XJ6 V6 at 85k miles. Paul/PJTS has given you the pressures I have been using for about 10k miles now for up to 100 mph. This size of wheel and section of tyre gives a very comfortable ride; you're not looking for holes i...

Barry,Hi Steve , I already have a copy thanks, hence my offer to email to any soggy 350 owners.
I'd be obliged if you could send me a copy. I haven't got a problem but it'd be good to have the info. Best regards, and thanks for your efforts again!

Re: new xj alloys to x350
Martin, You must consider what sort of ride you want in this new car. If you want a sporty ride then big diameter wheels - 19" or even 20" , you'll feel every crack in the road and every bit of grit, and you'll be dodging potholes, and believe me it can all get tedious! On the other hand, for a magi...

Purchasing advice sought, please.
Folks, I've been searching for a nice XJ6 V6 approx 2007, pre face lift, with about 25/30K miles on, in Jaguar Racing Green for over 6 months with no success. I've tried Auto Trader and Jaguar Approved almost daily. Questions :- Was racing green an unpopular colour? Were not many cars produced in th...

Re: ZF gearbox fluid & filter change
Autobox oil filter. To make it clear to those who don't know, and yesterday I didn't, the oil filter is incorporated into the sump cover and you cannot get to clean/change that filter. The only way to get a new filter is to buy a new sump cover and I understand they are about £250. On the sump cover...

Replacement tyres and wheel alignment
Information. XJ6V6 2003 77K miles - new to me last week - nice car - 17" wheels! Two new 235/55 - 17's, Nexen fitted £200 for the pair. I'm putting them on the front; I don't drive "sportily" and thus figure that I need stopping grip (at the front) rather than anti-slide grip (at the back). Align-My...
