Re: Lost Brakes! Where to start?
Are all XJS's fitted with the Teves system or only certain years? Can anyone tell me the details please.

Where are you located? You will find local groups all over and they all have their own programs which you will find enjoyable.
Re: Tow bar
It's the car telling you it is not designed to tow a caravan - like putting a milkfloat behind a Derby Winner- and to get it off again ASAP.

Fuel Grade
Was astonished to see a so-called American expert on the petroleum industry on-line saying with great conviction that using premium grade petrol in an ordinary car is a waste of money and no benefit whatever looked at from mpg, performance, and cleanliness viewpoints. How do our XJS 4 litre cars fit...

Re: Poor headlights
If your car can accept improved bulbs such as Phillips X-Treme Vision plus 130% you can get them from Powerbulbs via a very good service on - line. There is a guide so you can check suitability. I have used them for years on my 1994 XJS and the lights are improved beyond imagination but I would have...

Looks like a good start to me - best of luck with it, and please keep us up to date with progress.
You have Ripley Castle next year to aim at as a target for completion and an airing which we can all celebrate. Will bring a bottle of Proseco.

Re: Has anyone had to get a new windscreen for a Suffolk SS1
Hello Neil, Is the screen a piece of flat glass ? When I had a car with that sort of screen (a Dellow ), I just took the frame to a glazier and he cut a piece to fit, but that was many years ago. I remember the incident well as I was going back to RAF Cranwell for the afternoon duty when a stone fro...

Re: New battery time - any recommendations
Although they cost about double a 'normal' battery I am sold on the American 'Optima' brand ; quite unique as their website will explain. The Redtop is the one for starting performance. No topping up and totally leakproof and fumeproof. Have a read.

Crank Position Sensors.
Wondering whether to fit an updated CPS to my 4 litre AJ6 engined coupe 1994. Has anyone fitted the one which advances the ignition 5 degrees and what was the effect. Is it worthwhile ?
The car is run on Shell V-Power.
Is this the best way to tickle it up a bit - or are there any better fixes.

Re: Access to coolant overflow bottle
On the XJS the bottle is behind the offside front wheel inside the bodywork with access from a removable panel in the wheelarch lining. You will see a tube aiming that way from the engine bay. Should give you a clue for the X308. Best of luck.

Re: What headlamp bulbs ?
'Access Doors' is elevating the status of the ridiculous bits of plastic somewhat and my friend at 83 and non mech. minded is certainly incapable of going fumbling under the wheel arch trying to change the bulbs with his fingertips down the obscure hole, which is why I asked for help. Why access cou...

What headlamp bulbs ?
Does anyone have the type details of bulbs for a 1991 XJS Le Mans ? The 4 lamp car. I have a friend with one who has no handbook and wishes to upgrade to Phillips plus 130% bulbs if possible and needs this info to order on line. I think they may be H4 but confirmation would help.
