Re: MK2 60th Anniversary Celebration
Hi Rod There is definitely an event at cmc as I emailed them direct to register and was well pleased it was so close to me, It would seem the other event is being run by the jaguar breakfast club at the JLR classic which if true seems to be a bit of a shame as my 2 owners will be torn between the tw...

Re: Dying servo? By new or recon the old
Hi Richard thanks for your reply, this seems to be the way of things with all things automotive, I had issues when I had to replace the rear springs on my mk 2, I had two sets from a well known parts suppliers which were obviously Chinese and of four different lengths with no interleaving. I eventua...

Dying servo? By new or recon the old
Hi all I have been playing with the mk 2 again and have noticed a hissing sound emanating from the area of the brake servo reaction valve air cleaner when the engine is switched off. I guess this is some kind of vacuum leak from the reaction valve and may indicate a dying servo, also the car has nev...

Re: Ensuring longevity of rear springs
Hi lornemalvo I am sorry I didn’t see this post sooner. I had terrible trouble with Barrett springs, they could send me two the same length or profile. I too remarked that they had no interleaving and looked poorly made, in the end I bought a set of UK made springs, Barrets were in a Chinese packing...

Re: Automatic gearbox problems
Hi I don't know if you managed to get the problem resolved I have a mk 2 with the dg gearbox. Discolouration of the oil could also be due to the friction material in the gearbox breaking down. Before getting involved in taking things apart it may be worth just draining the gearbox (don't forget the ...

Re: Electronic engine Temperatur gauge vs original
Hi both Thanks for the replies and sorry for my tardy reply busy weekend! I have been using a digital cooking thermometer, a cheap Lcd gauge and probe from ebay and a laser point type thermometer. Electronic engine Temperatur gauge vs original

Re: Ignition coil for 123 ignition on 3.4 mk2
Hi Brian
I had a look at their site the only recommendation is that the coil should have an impedance of greater than 1 ohm
I was thinking of getting a lucus sports coil do you use the one without the ballast resistor
Cheers
