Re: XKR breather system contamination
Thanks Peter. Excellent link/ article. I have just carried out the works that it suggests. My part-load breather orifice wasn't blocked as in the article but the end of the hose was blanked off by a yellow bung like bit of plastic approx. 1cm long. I'm not sure if this is meant to be in there to ser...

XKR breather system contamination
Hi All, My 1999 Nikosil lined convertible suffers with oil contamination through the breather although the engine generally runs ok. This causes problems with the intake system and ultimately supercharger seals Can anyone recommend a decent easy to fit breather filter/ oil catch-can to aid with this...

Re: XKR Convertible top won't open- leaking oil
Thanks for that.Has anyone in the club experience of doing the work themselves. Any known issues with carrying out the work would be greatly appreciated. Could anyone recommend the best supplier for parts. SNG Barratt offer a discount to members.

XKR Convertible top won't open- leaking oil
Hi All, I have a 1999 XKR convertbile. All has been well with the top until i tried to open it yesterday. The result was me getting covered with oil from a point at the headlining/ courtesy light area. These have also filled up with oil which is now draining out into a container! :( :( Obviously the...

Re: XKR engine problems
Many thanks Mike. The garage is sure that the problems with the supercharger hoses failing are caused by oil contamination, and that in turn is a result of oil loss via the bores/ rings. However the car does start/ run fine, and did in the cold weather. I have been quoted a re-con engine complete wi...

Running problems
Hi I have a 1999 XKR convertible with ( i believe) the original Nikasil engine. Mileage appears to be a genuine 76,000. Due to poor running and misfiring at 75,000 i had the supercharger hoses and gaskets replaced at a total cost of £350. All ran fine for 1000 miles ( 3 months) and then the same hap...

seat cable
Hi
Has anyone any experience of changing the drivers side release cable on a 1999 XKR seat?
This is the cable that allows the seat to come forward for rear access. Not that the rear legroom is that great!
