Hi.
We have had reports about poor contact in the circular connector between the body and the door. Located between the door hinges. Easy to open, inspect and clean.

Re: Oh no ! restricted performance AND the CEL
Hi again. Here is another table giving the same resistance values, but it also shows the voltage. You can also see that the values are the same both for the AJ26 and the AJ27 engines. I have not been able to find the values for the AJ34 engine. The part catalogue (JEPC) gives different part numbers ...

Re: Oh no ! restricted performance AND the CEL
Hi all. I have been following this thread with great interest. Some comments from me: These cars (X100) are between 10 and 15 years old. Electrical connections will corrode over time and lose conductivity. All connectors should be opened, sprayed carefully with electrical cleaner (not WD40) and reco...

Re: Oh no ! restricted performance AND the CEL
Hi all. Measured the temperature in my original battery cables with engine off and some high consumers on. To my astonishment the temperature around the positive clamp was 50C. Ambient temperature 20C. All other connections were ok. Tightened the clamp fitting in a vice, but as you say, changing the...

Re: Hood stuck
Hi. It could be the same problem as I had some years ago. Upon closing the top, when the latch opened to receive the top hook, the latch "cover" followed up. By doing this the latch did not catch the hook, but instead the hook was resting on top of the latch. After depressurising the system and a lo...

Re: Central locking
Hi. - Check that your battery is fully charged. These cars are very sensitive to a failing battery. - Open the circular connector in the door jamb (between the hinges) and spray carefully with electrical cleaner. (not WD 40) - The door latch contains three microswitches that may fail. If you have a ...

Re: Providing a permanent Sat Nav connection.
Hi again. I have been driving with the wires as in the picture in my previous post, for more than three years. After you brought it to my attention I had to do something. - The vent grill is not a good solution. You would have to drill holes in the ventilation duct. - Dash speaker is neither any use...

Re: Providing a permanent Sat Nav connection.
Hi again.
It may be possible to route the cable from the small compartment through the ventilation grill on top of the dash, just below where I have located my nav unit.

Re: Providing a permanent Sat Nav connection.
Hi.
I put in a socket in the small compartment below the steering wheel. Took the power from the lighter socket via some cables routed below the interior trim.
This way the connection is hidden, but you will have a visible cable from the box up to the nav unit.

There should be some tiny numbers visible with a flashlight and a magnifying glass.

Re: GREMLINS AND REAR LIGHT UPGRADE
Hi. A burned or bad ground connector in the tail-light assembly has been known to cause problems. Adding an extra ground wire to the chassis have solved this problem. If your door open light stays on with the door closed I would suspect one of the microswitches in the latch assembly. I had a bad con...

Hi.
I did it. It is mentioned in some rust prevention documentation. For the record, mine is a -97.

Re: Fault code P1582 - stalling
Hi again. As you can see from the attachment it can be five different things. A battery disconnect could help if you are lucky. Fuel pump failure is fairly common in cars being stored for some time. You may be able to hear your pump running a few seconds when turning on the ignition. The fuel pump r...

Re: Fault code P1582 - stalling
Hi.
Code 1582 is related to the inertia switch. To give some more information, we need model year as the codes may different from year to year.
