Hi, Just bought myself a SE Estate 2.0D, first registered 22 Jan 2010, so probably one of the last made in Dec 2009. Any idea when the last estates came off the line ? , my Vin ends 6J63468.

Thanks for you're input guys, there is a warning fault displayed and the transmission is definetly not playing ball, due to the costs involved, I feel that it may be a case of another fine looking car, being sold for spares or repair.

My 80 year dad has a 2001 Xj8, the gearbox packed in yesterday, no warning, as in there had been no previous problems, no whining, grinding, cluncking etc. A mechanic has told him £1700 to fix it !!!! Any ideas what it could be ? maybe an easy fix ie electrical, or similar issue which wouldn't be so...

thanks guys for the advice, the battery was fully charged, tried the unlock but didn't open the door as suggested, no luck, so decided just to press the open button for several seconds, the indicators flashed and hey presto, the fob worked as normal cheers

hi guys, got a problem with my key fobs, on my 2003 2.5 V6, The car battery had went flat, after recharging it, I found that the fobs locked and alarmed the car, but for some reason the car wont unlock with the fob, I have to use the key. I have also replaced the batteries in the fobs, still no luck...
