Re: Jaguar Sovereign rust and restoration - lots of welding!
Does the plenum chamber have drain holes to prevent water and condensate collecting there, leading to the rust? If so, where are they please? If not, is it possible to create some?

Re: Jaguar Sovereign rust and restoration - lots of welding!
How common is this sort of rust in X300's?

X300 Sovereign Alignment
I seem to be getting a few different answers when it comes to the question of whether or not the steering alignment on my Sovereign needs to be done with the car weighted or tied down. Is this the case or can I adjust the alignment with the vehicle empty? Since having the nearside balljoint replaced...

Re: User Manuals and Booklets...
Great stuff Rob, I'll do that. Will organise another trip down shortly for more bits as it seems I've broken the checkstrap on the driver's door. Had a fraught few minutes trying to get the door closed during the torrential rain earlier! I'm also interested in some replacement wheels as it seems min...

User Manuals and Booklets...
Evening all. Could anyone tell me what sorts of user manuals, audio guides, booklets etc. came with X300's when new please? I'd like to get hold of the sorts of things you would find in the glovebox as you drove away from the dealer. Also, what advice would you give on tracing a car's history? Would...

Re: Autobox servicing and odd noise identification...
I'm happy to report that the transmission fluid and filter change was a total success. Judging by the state of the fluid drained out, which smelled terrible and was the colour of black coffee, plus the fact that both sump magnets were coated with grey slime, I reckon that today was probably the firs...

Re: Autobox servicing and odd noise identification...
I'm ready to tackle this job now after the easter break thanks to the correct bits being ordered through Mulsanne Motors. As I understand it the transmission level needs to be checked while the engine is running and the car is in neutral, but where is the correct level on the dipstick? Also, while t...

Re: New Chap Here - Be Gentle!
Welcome! I spent a chunk of last week elbow deep in a Silver Shadow's engine. Not quite the same as a Griff but close enough!

Electrical Gremlins
Hello all, I came across some odd behavior today while out and about in the Jag. She's doing things that she wasn't doing before and it's all a bit weird. For starters, when I use the keyfob to unlock her the drivers seat backrest pitches itself almost full forwards. I need to re-set it before I can...

Wanted - Upper Cooling Fan for 4.0 Sovereign
Hi all, I confirmed that my upper cooling fan is knackered today so I'm after a working replacement in the Edinburgh/Central Region area if anyone has one going please. PM with what you'll take for one.
Thanks,
Bob
Thanks,
Bob

XJ40/X300 front coil spring compatibility?
Hi all. I'm in need of a matched set of front coil springs. My local breakers have a couple of AJ6 XJ40's in their yard with what appear to be half decent looking springs for £20 each. Are they going to be compatible with a 1997 Sovereign? There's also a later X308 in the yard - a newer car and bett...

Re: Autobox servicing and odd noise identification...
Thanks Rob, I'll give it a bash. One of the good things about being at college is access to the workshops and a willing class full of helpers keen to get their mitts on the Jag. It just so happens we're doing cooling systems this month so a thermostat job ties in nicely!
