Re: 1994 XJS 4L guidance sought
Thanks David, I may well get an inspection done of the car as the owner is more than happy to allow it and I cant get a look underneath the car. Its in the Nottingham area , is there anyone that the club recommends for buyer inspections?

Re: 1994 XJS 4L guidance sought
Thanks davidr, one of the bugbears with my Mark2 was its poor demisting/heater output as It was a pain for steaming up in wet weather, I really didn't fancy changing to another car that had similar problems and didn't know if the XJS's blower/heater was pretty asthmatic or whether it should be quite...

1994 XJS 4L guidance sought
Hi, Ive recently sold my Mark 2 and looking to buy an XJS Celebration (4L model). the car is good mechanically and bodywork wise but it seems to have a few gremlins. The front seats have been nicely recovered, but whilst the electrics work fine to move both of the seat bases back and forth, neither ...

seized temp guage sender
I need to replace a faulty temperature sender on my 1968 340, which added to the hard to get to position, it has well and truly seized in solid. Its had as much force applied as we dare, but simply cannot budge it and due to its location, soaking it with plusgas seems a waste of time. Has anyone any...

HD6 Carb Needles
I have a May 1968 registered mark 2 340 chassis No P1J51527BU,with HD6 carbs that are playing up and so intend to get a repair/service kit. I'm trying to find out what the correct needle size is that I need, as so far I have been advised by one Jag specialist that I need a 'TM', and by another I nee...

Re: under bonnet insulation
Thanks Paul, just that I'm aware of how incredibly hot the bonnet seems to get without any insulation as well as the sound issue. Phil

Re: S type scuttle vent.
PPV, I take it you were able to get good access to the scuttle vent rods etc by going in through the dash? Did you have to remove the dash or simply tip the centre dash forward? I ask as my scuttle vent mechanism on my mk 2 340 is pretty well seized and that will be one of the next jobs on the list....

under bonnet insulation
My mk 2 Jag 340 was subject of a respray prior to me buying it and has not had any insulation fitted to the underside of the bonnet. I notice that there are different types available from the likes of Barratts etc... Does anyone know if some are better than others? I'm not bothered about OEM issues,...

Re: Fitting CD player in 1968 MK2
Hi Brian, many thanks for this, Ive just seen your replies, very helpful. I did also look at some of the retro look and old stereos refitted with modern internals type units, which would suit th appearance of these cars, but one or two people have mentioned they haven't been overly impressed with th...

Re: Fitting CD player in 1968 MK2
Hi Brian, just seen your post. I am also looking to fit a modern unit into the original slot for the radio, using a standard modern player. I had assumed that the speakers would fit onto the side panels near the a post but my car has no Room behind the trim unless the access plates are left off. Is ...

Installing car audio
Hi, I'm looking to install a new radio/speakers into my 1968 340 auto. The original radio and centre speaker were broken and removed and the car was retrimmed prior to me buying it, so is bit of a blank canvas. I will probably put a fairly standard modern radio/mp3 player in the original radio spot,...

Re: borge warner 35 gear oil
Thanks 'Pop', just ordered from the link you've supplied, many thanks for your help. On another note, I was looking at Wynns auto transmission conditioner' the other day. I used this a few years back to fix a slight weep on a Scimitar se6 I used as a daily driver, which it did, as well as making the...
