Re: Stability Control Fail/ Traction Control Fail
Here is my drop tester in action. Sorry the pic isn`t that good. php6rAAVvPM (2).jpg Note the low voltage under load on a dead battery. When I released the load switch, the needle shot back up to a state of 12 volts. Not good. The needle should rise slowly. What I had here was a battery with voltag...

Re: Stability Control Fail/ Traction Control Fail
I agree with Nik. XK8 and S-type have very similar electronic architecture. As a consequence they can glitch in similar fashion. What you describe is not unknown with the S-type also. Indeed I have experienced similar DSC faulting. When on rare occasions this has occurred, it has been during cold w...

Re: leather colour codes?
Hi Dave , Cream leather was used by Jaguar for 96-97 it then changed to Ivory , look at the label inside the passenger door shut , amongst other details it should include the trim code , if it's NED then you have Ivory seats , NDR = Cream , AGD = Oatmeal  Hope this helps, Nik Thanks

Timing chain tensioners
As a precaution I’ve just had my 98 XK8 with 83k on the clock checked to see if the tensioners have been updated and they haven’t, this was done by my local garage who have looked after my cars for years, the secondary (upper) timing chain tensioners, chains look in good condition and the car has be...

Re: New Cat Owner
It's definitely Phoenix red. I had an identical looking 1999 XK8 which I sold last year to my (JEC member) buddy in Holland. I've seen a few non-XKR models in this attractive colour and the 18" 'Flute' wheels suit it, too. I still think it's prettier than my 2007 XK aluminium model! (Ideally, I'd l...
