Re: Dummy Hartford damper disks
I have seen both types fitted on original cars.
These are both 1938 2½-Litres:

Let me know if they fit!

Re: Dummy Hartford damper disks
Neil, Mine are pretty crusty too. I see you chose the 506 discs: http://www.vintageandclassicshockabsorbers.co.uk/communities/8/004/011/194/158/images/4598493889_200x150.jpg although the version on my Suffolk look more like 306: http://www.vintageandclassicshockabsorbers.co.uk/communities/8/004/011/...

Re: Suffolk SS100 Tyres
I've probably only seen one Suffolk SS100 that wasn't on Blockleys. They're pretty good when you consider the limitations of the tread design and crossply construction. Braking in very wet conditions can be "interesting", as I found on my return journey from Grimsthorpe, when every press of the peda...

Yes, welcome aboard.
There aren't that many Suffolks in the JEC, so don't expect Pistonheads.

Re: How does your car feel at speed.
I've been able to use my car a bit more this summer, although, as I said before, I've kept to Roger's recommended tyre pressures of 24 & 28 psi. I pump them up to 30 & 35 psi when not in use (MWS recommend a maximum of 40 psi). Today, as an experiment, I left them up while driving a couple of miles ...

1938 SS100
Not a replica, but an original unrestored 1938 SS Jaguar 100 3½-litre that was recently discovered in the US. The previously unknown car has been acquired by Jaguar collector/restorer Terry Larson, who intends to leave the external bodywork in its current state, but restore it mechanically. The SS10...

Reg,
Yes, I've seen the Facebook group, but unfortunately I don't do social media (I'm anti-social!).
I know many people who live their lives on line, but it's not for me (certain forums and photo-sharing excepted).
