Re: New Member from Glasgow
Hi Ken, lovely looking car, have seen pictures of it on Paragon’s website. After many long discussions with Tony I finally took the plunge and booked my car in for numerous upgrades etc. It went down there in April and my hope was to have it back in time for the Glamis Extravaganza in July but sadly...

. Pulled old one off and the new one is the same. After a bit of fiddling, squeezing and comparing with other side I got new one in. Put roof up and down and it didn't catch, foul or even fall out.

Re: Is it easy to replace a convertible hood frame seal cent
Wei I've finally got the expensive piece of rubber but doesn't appear to have much of a "lip" to hold it in. Hope it's the right one, guess I'll just have to be brave and pull the old one off and then I'll know for sure!!!

Re: Is it easy to replace a convertible hood frame seal cent
Hi Mike, the part no I'm looking at is HJB7780AA (& HJB7781AA), hopefully that is what you are referring to and is an easy fix. Any chance you can remember exactly how it was done. I'm guessing it is with the roof down and the old one just pulls out and new one is well lubricated and levered in. Per...

Is it easy to replace a convertible hood frame seal centre o
Hi. I've noticed that the centre hood frame seals are both split, ripped and chunks missing (well actually not just noticed but been ignoring them ) and have now found the seals are actually available. Is it an easy owner fix or does it need to go to a specialist?

Re: Engine cover fasteners - 1 wanted
Tried everywhere I could find a No for but couldn't get fixing screw on their own only if I bought cover too. Eventually found this item on e-bay (item no 271977334272) so hopefully will fit, fingers crossed.

Engine cover fasteners - 1 wanted
I have a 2003 4.2 ltr XK8 and have just noticed I am missing one of the 4 plastic fixing screws which secure it in place. According to Jaguar they come with the cover only and cannot be purchased separately. Anyone happen to have one lying about or know where I can get one.

Re: Rear parking sensors-intermittent fault
Hi Guys, thanks for swift responses, I only have rear parking sensors so can't be the front ones lol. Think I'll go first for having it all stripped out, cleaned and put back. Never know that may solve it, if not I'll be back for more advice.
Cheers

Rear parking sensors-intermittent fault
My rear sensors periodically just decide to give a constant beep when I select reverse, no rhyme or reason, rain or sunny, smooth or bumpy road . Car has been on. Jaguar diagnostic machine and nothing shows. Done the "ticking" test and all 4 sound the same so wondering best way to resolve. Don't hav...

Re: Suspension bushes - upgrade or not (excuse my ignorance)
I haven't been ignoring everyone, I did post last week but it hasn't appeared. Anyway all 4 wheels successfully aligned and no problems from any of the bushes so my concerns were not necessary. Three of the wheels were a bit out of alignment but apparently the rear near side one was way out so glad ...

Re: Suspension bushes - upgrade or not (excuse my ignorance)
Hi guys, thanks for the informative and interesting replies. I am perfectly happy with the way car is at present but was curious as to whether upgrading the bushes was a good investment and future proofing for the car. I don't have the tools, facilities etc to do it myself so it could be a bank mana...

Suspension bushes - upgrade or not (excuse my ignorance)
I'm putting my car in for 4 wheel laser alignment & wheel balance on Thursday and have been warned by the garage that I may have issues with one/some of the bushes under the car due to vehicle age, use etc etc. The car is a 2003 and done 70000 miles which for the last 8 years has really only be in s...

Re: CD changer - what are 3 mini plug wires?
Cheers for response BB, I didn't think they were that temperamental but got me thinking over morning cuppa. Surely the fibre optic cables carry "data" only like sound, video etc. The unit must have physical power to operate and actually be able to load/eject cassette. Despite searching everywhere on...

CD changer - what are 3 mini plug wires?
I have a dead CD changer, so managed to get a known working replacement but it also appeard dead so thinking must be wiring or fuse. Are there any fuses solely for changer? What are the 3 wires each for? Can I use lamp or meter to test they are all live/connected. Do I need fibre optic cables connec...
