Hello - new 3.5 owner
Hello Folks I am feeling rather pleased with myself having this week found a 1946 matching numbers 3.5ltr UK car - it needs a lot of love and will be my new Jaguar Project but I suspect this will turn into being a 'keeper'. The car was taken off the road in 1975 to repair damage to the nearside wing...

Re: FM Modulator (not transmitter) for Ipod
No - there are no impacts to the car phone - all the box is really doing is injecting the audio input directly into the radio aerial. You can still use the radio as normal and by streaming Internet radio using your phone - this effectively becomes a DAB radio input too

Re: FM Modulator (not transmitter) for Ipod
I can advise that the FM modulator from "Connects2" is a very easy installation, requiring only a 12v feed and mounting of the Audio jack "somewhere". I chose to mount that in the center console arm rest box. The unit uses a frequency that is not used in the UK and my radio found it with no issues. ...

Re: CD player head unit in dashboard--Removal
Its actually pretty easy... I did it last night to look at the back of the radio unit to see what kind of aerial connector it had. You simply need to remove the surrounding padded trim around the stereo and gear select and then you will see the mounting bolts for the CD etc. First remove the inside ...

FM Modulator (not transmitter) for Ipod
Folks Like many others, I would like to connect my iPod to the standard Jaguar radio but I have never had much success with FM transmitters (probably because I live in London and all the frequencies are in use). An FM modulator is different to a transmitter and is physically inserted in-between the ...

Re: Returning to XJR ownership
To set the scene - I have owned XJ's for about 30 years and raced a manual series 1XJ for a few years so my opinions on modifications to these wonderful cars is a little biased as I like them to perform and handle. I will confess to not being an expert on any of the modifications... To be fair, the ...

Huh? This is weird I wrote a fairly lengthy reply to Joes questions and the post is not showing. Please excuse this test.

Found - a cable to connect Ipod or iPhone to the stereo
Folks After a lot of searching, I finally found a cable that connects my iPhone /iPod into the stereo with NO modifications required. Now I can have my entire music collection in the car and it took me all of 20 minutes to fit. Below is a link to the simplest cable - they do another one that allows ...
Re: Xjr paint
My 2000 XJR has a single very thin silver-grey pin stripe but I know you can buy the stripe from Arden although I suspect mine is original

Returning to XJR ownership
Just wanted to say hi, seeing as I now have another XJR to play with. Its a 2002 Model in Black with the 'oatmeal' interior I used to run a lovely silver blue X300 XJR which I wish I had never sold then recently I stumbled across an X308 XJR at the right price with very good provenance and I knew th...
