My interior mirror glass, I suspect like many other Mk 2 interior mirrors, is slightly pitted and a little cloudy. I have a spare one which is in a similar condition.
Has anyone successsfully replaced the glass or knows of anyone who offers such a service?
Regards
Owen

Normally I would be pleased to attend events such as Kemble, but the 30th is my birthday and Mrs L is whisking me away for the weekend.
But no doubt there will be future events............

Re: Finally - hands on
After many many years of Teutonic engineering I took the plunge and bought an XJ last month to share the garage with my Mk 2. It is a 2013 3.0D Portfolio with 21000 miles in Cashmere with navy leather, colours which we think go well together. So far very pleased but look forward to the weather impro...

Re: Replacing rear springs
Thanks Brian, your comments were very helpful.
The car doesn't look that down at the back so I will take some measurements as you have suggested.
I also think that it is a U bolt on the exhaust that is scraping so I will either twist it round or cut some length off.

Re: Replacing rear springs
I recently went to the Goodwood revival, which incidentally was a great day out, with four people and luggage in the Mk2 and on some undulations the exhaust was touching the road. I think that I may also be replacing the rear springs but before I go down that road could anyone please tell me what th...

I have a front bumper and over riders for sale if you are interested.
All in very good condition but you would have to collect from near to Gloucester

Re: Bootlid
Alec Thank you for the reply. The springs are in place and appear to be all in one piece. I think that time has weakened them and so they are now incapable of supporting the weight of the bootlid. Secondhand ones seem expensive and of course there is no guarantee that they will be any better so I wi...
Bootlid
My bootlid will not stay up in the open position, but rather descends slowly until the catch digs into my back if I am leaning into the boot, and it hurts!
Does anyone know if it possible to retension the mechanism so that the bootlid stays open?

Re: oil changing the transmission

Thank you for the information.
I have some Carlube EP90 in the garage which I will use so just have to get some LS80w/90 for the diff.
I didn't realsie that there was a specific oil for limited slip diffs.

Re: Suspension bushes
Thank you Brian, interesting. I wonder if the rear rubber lasted well because less oil etc is thrown over them. By torque arm I assume you mean the panhard arrm? I will replace those as well. I take your point about the softest Polybush ones, I never drive it that hard to warrant the ultimate in han...

Re: Suspension bushes
Thank you both for your replies.
Looks like it will be Superflex then so I had better start pricing them up.
At the last MOT I was advised re a couple of them and I have a knock from the front end which I think is the shock absorber lower bushes.
Thanks again

Suspension bushes
The time is coming when the bushes in my car will need replacing. Whilst it is being done I have decided to do all bushes including the panhard arm, springs, shock absorbers etc etc I would like to use polyurethane ones and wonder if anyone has any experience of them including which ones are the bes...
