XJS 1993 Electric cooling fan
Does anybody know at what temperature the electric cooling fan switches on? The viscous fan is OK and I can spin the electric fan blades, but I have noticed the temperature moving quite close to the 'hot' section on the dial, especially in stationary traffic. Logically it could be a sensor, but I ha...

Brake fluid reservoir
My square plastic brake fluid reservoir that I replaced six years ago is now leaking again. Reading various Forum pages it seems to be that the reproduction quality of these items is just not good enough and they eventually leak around the bottom outlet or at the seams. They are probably reproduced ...

Re: E-type, electronic ignition.
No, my 123 system was installed in 2008 before the company went down the line. You have to manually adjust the setting depending on the curve which are advised via the workshop manual. That seems a great idea though using Bluetooth, like maybe adjusting the curves via a laptop whilst the engine is r...

Re: E-type, electronic ignition.
I have successfully used the Dutch 123 electronic ignition system for the last 10 years and found it most reliable. The engine fires up instantly and ticks over better, pulls very well, the downside is the expense, but you have a brand new distributor with no points to maintain and an excellent stro...

Re: Radio/CD player fault
I am pleased to report I took up Tintin's advice and took my radio/cassette player to Dorchester car Radios and they have rectified the fault. They said it was corrosion, they had the radio for a couple of month's and they charged £160 including vat. I'm glad to say it is back in the car and works p...

Re: Radio/CD player fault
Hi Richard,
That is correct, I cannot get it to play the radio or even select another CD. Only the on/off and volume button works.

Radio/CD player fault
XJS 1993 convertible - I have a fault on my radio/CD player, it is currently locked into playing a CD from the cassette in the boot. Non of the buttons on the face are not active, so I cannot change functions, ie radio or to another CD. I have checked all the fuses connected to the radio and all see...

Radio and CD player
I have a 1993 facelift Convertible and I have lost the use of all the button controls on the radio and CD player. It will switch on and is currently locked into playing a CD from the 6 disc stack in the boot, but I cannot change to another CD or access the radio. It would seem that the player will h...

Rally Plate mount
A few years ago I remember somebody produced a Rally plate holder that bolted underneath the over-rider on the E-Type. Do anyone know if they are still available and who produced them?

Re: Battery Not Charging
Hi guys, Thank for replies, I have checked the voltage and it is reading OK so the battery is being charged. I have just been out on a test run and no message has appeared on the screen so I guess it is another one of these annoying fault message that will come up on these highly technical Jaguars. ...

Battery Not Charging
I have a 2013 Sportsbrake Porfolio model and I have a message coming up "Battery not Charging." I know that if you only use the car for short journeys it affect air vents not opening automatically and the stop/start eco system does not work. I don't use the car as a daily driver, so I keep the car h...

Replacement overmats
I am looking to replace my overmats in my Facelift 1993 Convertible 2+2 in a cream colour. They have an oval locking tab to stop them sliding about. Does anyone know where i can buy replacements complete with this locking tab? If not I suppose velcro will do.

Re: Dunlop Tyres
Hi Mike, After sending a reply letter to Dunlop outlining my thoughts on the problem and said I will be seeking to send the tyres to an indepedant specialist to ask their opinion on this issue. I received a phone call today saying that they still stick to their initial decision, but as a goodwill je...
