Re: New player on transfer
Time for a bit of an update on the new relationship. I have a long history with Jaguar - going back to the 1960/70s - and have never really recovered from my first serious affair with a Mark 2. (lust and love and all that). My preceding S-Type was the closest I have come to recreating that early inf...

Re: New player on transfer
Hi again - I bought the 'alternate' update satnav dvd from a company called satnavdisc.co.uk - which arrived in a couple of days. Although described by them as not being 'Jaguar original' - it came with exactly all the same printed information on the disc label as the one I took out - except that th...

Re: New player on transfer
Wow Rictus - that's what I call a leaper in your picture!!! That must sorely test the old bill's goodwill ? It seems my new girl is the same colour as in your picture also! Will wait to see if there are a few more replies about the satnav and then take a decision - thanks for your response.

New player on transfer
Not exactly a new boy - have just parted with the four wheeled love of my life - my S-Type 3.0Ltr Sport - and purchased a 2010 XF 3.0ltr (petrol) which looks as though it will be a long term affair. We are still getting to know each other at the moment - so I will reveal more later..... In the meant...

Re: After A Year Away With No Cat
Hi, I also have an S-Type 3.0 ltr Sport, 2003. Although not having owned a Jaguar/Daimler since the 1970s (and also owning a 1979 W123 Mercedes Coupe) I have also kept a keen interest in the big cats and finally took the plunge nearly three years ago. I may be biased, but the S- Type is the best car...

Re: New member
Hi Jon.....no relation to that other Bono are you ? Does'nt matter to me, just thought I'd ask? Welcome to THE club, (the rest of it is OK but the bits specific to the S-Type are the D.B.'s in comparison). Despite me being a mechanical plonker, the guys who read our messages have been very patient a...

Re: Park Brake

Re: Park Brake
Hi all, Thanks for your interest and help. You will no doubt be pleased to know Mike that some of the technical stuff does get taken on board and as you point out, helps idiots like me to understand the dark arts that are practiced under the bonnet and the other bits I cannot see from the end of my ...

Re: Park Brake
As I am sure you now realise Mike, I fear greatly for what remains of any sanity I may have once possessed. I had a real eureka moment.........and looked at the bill from the repair shop!! It states.... 'RNS driveshaft reluctor wheel damaged (showing ABS fault). Fit s/h driveshaft and sensor, clear ...

Re: Park Brake
Hi Mike and all, Sorry- if you've seen any of my previous ramblings you will know that I have the in depth mechanical knoweledge of a duck billed platypus. That does not alter the fact that I love the car to bits and I certainly do wield a mean chamois and polishimg cloth. Concerning the drive shaft...

Re: Park Brake
Hi Mike and all.......At last an update on the warning light sagas......The ABS Fault and DSC not available warning lights were finally pinned down to a faulty ABS speed sensor on one of the rear wheels. This was found and confirmed thanks to an independent Jaguar Garage with the right equipment as ...

Re: Park Brake
Thanks Mike, Garage have already offered parts at 50% discount from normal which I thought was pretty good. I am keeping a list of the suppliers you have suggested to me for future use - I'm sure I will be needing them !! Hope to meet up at one of the events this year?
Best wishes, Clive.

Re: Park Brake
Hi Mike and all....I mentioned a while ago that I had a reoccurrence of warning lights 'ABS Fault" and 'DSC not working", albeit intermittently. Well intermittent became every time the car went over thirty miles per hour! The lights would reset after ignition was turned off but came back on again ev...
