Re: Electric door mirrors
Hi all, I need to replace one of my door mirror inserts as well. I assume the process as described by Mark is still valid for a late XJS. Any other hints how to remove the glass without destroying it? Use of a heat gun to remove the mirror glass from it's plastic back should not be necessary, no? Th...

Re: Celebration coachline spec
Hi Paul,
You are right, my car is exactly as yours: UK spec MY1994.75 with no coachlines.
Just considering options at the moment as I think the coachlines really suit the XJS...
Cheers,
Peter.

Re: Celebration coachline spec
Hi,
I saw the masking take and that's what really confuses me. The coachline on the 1995 Celebration I used to own started to slightly peel off at the back end of the front wing. I am pretty sure this wasn't painted.
Anyways, can you please post a picture and the measurements David?
Regards,
Peter.

Celebration coachline spec
Hi all, With the 4.0l Celebration models, Jaguar introduced the one-colour coachlines. See https://www.flickr.com/photos/kgfclassiccars/16457333463/in/photostream/ as an example. Who can tell me, what dimensions these coachlines have? Would be great to know how thick the two lines are and how far th...

Re: No OBD/diagnsotic connection
Hi Paul, The other car was a 1995 AJ16 XJS, a Celebration model. The security LED is flashing there as well when a connection is established. I tried two different testers. A Bosch KTS unit (proper garage equipment) and the JLR IDS. Tried all kind of variants: Key-on, engine off; Key-on engine runni...

No OBD/diagnsotic connection
Hi all, I am trying to connect a diagnostic tool to my XJS - without success. The car is a build in 9.1994, AJ16, VIN1967xx. The very same OBD scanner is working fine with another XJS. The only reaction I get is a blinking LED at the cigarette lighter at each connection attempt. Any suggestion what ...

Re: Audio Upgrade Project
Hi all, I am thinking about upgrading the speakers on my XJS. From what I read in the wider community, the Alpine SPS-610 speakers should work well with my headunit. No need to add an amp. I do fancy the SPS-610C speakers though as they come with a separate tweeter. The question is: Where to mount t...

Re: XJS Panel Lights and switches conversion project to Blue
Hi 540i,
I am very interested to learn more about that circuit you designed to make the LEDs inside the switches switch over. Looked at the electrics for a while but couldn't figure out how to solve that...
Thanks,
Peter.

Re: Audio Upgrade Project
The headunit of my choice is a Becker Indianapolis Pro. Managed to source a reasonable priced used one in excellent condition which came with the microphone and GPS antenna. Autoleads offers a harness adaptor called PC2-66-4 which only needed additional pins for the reverse signals and the speed sig...

Re: Lambda reading
Thanks for your advice Paul! I did trace the lambda readings during a short drive and while the bank 1 sensor delivered sensible values, the bank 2 voltage remained at 0V. Both sensor readings are fairly sync since I installed the new sensor. I got the emissions checked before the official re-test a...
