Thanks for reply as it confirms what i was thinking as did not want to spend on this engine. I only replaced no5 cylinder bearing as wanted to check if there was any other probems before going down the full strip down and replace way.

From start up I'm getting a loud knocking noise. Droped sump off, found no. 5 big end gone, so have replaced bearings on no. 5 cylinder but noise still persists. Think knocking noise coming from top of engine and thinking it's still coming from no. 5 cyclinder. Any suggestions, thoughts, comments, h...
