Re: Centre Console "roller blinds" unstuck
Well, it seems this problem is not unique to me. The following link to the Jaguar Forum gives all you need to know about removing the console and replacing the cup holder cover (which is what I called the “roller blinds”: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x351-53/sliding-cover-over-cupholders-20...

Re: coolant level low warning
Apologies for the delay in wrapping this up. So, the new Jaguar branded header tank (with sensor) from Barratt's did the job (part No. MJD4400BA). It is quite an easy task, but best to get the specialist tool to open the hose clips that are fitted (what's wrong with good old fashioned Jubilee clips ...

Centre Console "roller blinds" unstuck
One of the two "roller blind" type covers that open to reveal the cupholders have come unstuck from the backing webbing and I have had to remove the individual pieces. I think the glue just failed after 10 years (2011 car). I don't imagine it is too difficult to repair this but I don't know how to g...

Re: coolant level low warning
Thanks Both. I ordered the new tank as soon as I realised, with your input, that the float is inside the tank. When I started the car with the new sensor in it was fine until the coolant heated up then the warning light came on, so it appears that it starts off floating then sinks! When I get the ol...

Re: iPhone connectivity
I guess that from the deafening silence on this topic no one else has experience this problem, but just in case anyone has, I have stumbled across a workaround: If you play music from the iPhone and select “My Music” on the car’s infotainment system the music plays through the car system and so do s...

Re: coolant level low warning
Thanks, Allan. That is very helpful - even I should be able to manage that. I had gained the impression that the tank only needed changing if it was split and leaking and didn’t appreciated that the float is part of the tank assembly. I guess the float must be a collar around the tube that holds the...

Re: coolant level low warning
Well, I replaced the sensor a with a unit from SNG Barratt. At first I couldn't see how the old one came out so I loosened the tank and after I did I realised that it can indeed be pulled out of the bottom of the tank and is simply a click-fit. Mid you, it took a couple of hours to get that far! Any...

Re: coolant level low warning
Thank you, Allan and Mike for the tips. Yes, The XKR one is a different shape and Barratt’s have this one. I will call them tomorrow and have a chat - Aftermarket or Jaguar, sensor only or whole tank.

Re: coolant level low warning
Thanks, Mike,
From your response I would guess you would favour replacing the tank, which comes with the sensor fitted?

Re: coolant level low warning
I have just had the same problem of the warning light coming on while the coolant level is good. I have a 2004 XKR and I see the SNG Barrett have both the complete (aftermarket) tank and the (Jaguar) sensor. I would, of course prefer to just replace the sensor and I see from reading the various post...

iPhone connectivity
I have a new iPhone 12 with v14.4 of the operating system. I can pair it to my 2011 XJ without problem. I can make and receive 'phone calls through the Jaguar interface and I can use Siri, but none of the apps have audio. They seem to "think" they are connected to the car (when playing music, for ex...
