Re: door locks
Yes, I had the same problem a little while ago. I purchased a new battery (From Boots chemist ) much cheaper than Jaguar. The fob is fairly straight forward to dismantle but make sure you insert the new battery immediately after removing the old one, other wise it may lose the memory. All was well a...

Consumption ?
I noticed in the latest Jaguar magazine there is a letter regarding the fuel consumption of an X type diesel. It's a good, well written, interesting letter with quite a lot of details re. driving methods etc.. I also run an X type 2.2 diesel and what a really good vehicle it is too, I use it most da...
Re: Tyres.
Well, I've now got around to changing the tyres on my X type 2.2d SE. Having done a fair bit of research at some local tyre depots, mostly by asking for their opinions and looking at the new labels on various makes / prices etc. I was looking for value for money. ( I have a good reliable friend in t...
Satnav.
Well, after some thought I decided to take a chance and have purchased an update disc for my satnav. The one in my satnav was a 2009, so I thought it was time for an update. Anyway, with fingers crossed I ordered one online ( 2012 model ) from satnav1, the disc arrived within two days and I took out...

Re: Mud Flaps for 2009 X-Type
I've been looking for some front mud flaps for my 2009 X type saloon and I've checked with my local Jaguar dealer who, when they looked into mud flaps also informed me that none were made for the later revamped model. when I asked if the earlier flaps would fit they said no because the wheel arches ...

Mud Flaps.
Does anyone have any experience of fitting of mud flaps to the front of an X type ?.
I'm not too bothered about the rear end, but my local dealer seems to think that jaguar didn't do flaps for the later X models because of the face lift. Mine is a 2009 model.
Regards, Chris.

Re: engine stopping
I had a similar experience with my 2 litre TDi Mondeo, ( much the same engine ) I had the caravan on tow at the time as well. managed to coast to a safe stop, switched off and then restarted ok, all was ok for the rest of holiday. However, a couple of weeks later it happened again, I got it checked ...

Re: Wynns.
Managed to pick up a bottle of the DPF cleaner, it is just added to a full tank of diesel and and is harmless to use. It is claimed to help prevent Particulate Filter blockages.

Key Fob.
Hi everybody, On my 2.2 d Se X type key fob there is a button which should flash the headlamps if it is pressed on approach to the vehicle. Well, it doesn't appear to do anything when I press the said button. I assume it should work on this car. Any suggestions please ? Chris Bartram.
Re: EGR etc.
Hello Graham,
I decided to just take out the air filter element and then spray into the intakes. this seemed to work well and did the job ok.

I understand that WYNNS has now got a product out called DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER CLEANER.
I haven't managed to pick a bottle up as yet, although i have been looking.
