Re: How to remove phone details when selling
Thanks both especially Brian that procedure seems perfectly to fit in with the less than friendly way of doing things in the menu! I will try tomorrow.

How to remove phone details when selling
I am about to sell my 2007 XJ Sovereign and want to remove all my contacts and phone details from the car. I can only find details in the handbook about adding a Bluetooth phone. Has anybody any ideas as to how to reboot the phone. Maybe disconnecting the battery?

Air bag warning light
The airbag warning light has been intermittently on and off for years on my car ,staying off for the mots. Took it into the main dealer today thinking it was the usual " clock spring " fault but it wasn't! The technician traced it to a broken wire behind the centre console which obviously had been r...

Re: CATACLEAN and EML illumintaing
Mike and others,
There is a new MOT in place which fails cars which have had cats and diesel particulate filters removed I think , not sure if that covers modified cats but worth looking into.

Re: Buying an X350 wth paint blisters - Fixable or Show Stopper?
The car has done 39000 miles ,the cam belt has been changed. The other belt powers the alternator, power steering and air con so if it did break it does not ruin the engine. As it was done at a main dealer I trust their judgement and the work is warranted. I can get it changed at the next service .

Re: Buying an X350 wth paint blisters - Fixable or Show Stopper?
Just had a JaguarXE 2.5T for three days while having my cam belt and service done in Jaguar main dealers. I think it was petrol but the engine was noisier than my diesel. It was very fast but nowhere near as substantial in feel when the doors were shut and the ride and quietness were far worse. You ...

Diesel cam belt and other belts
Just had the cam belt changed on my 39000 mile 2.7 diesel. Not really due on mileage but as it is a 2007 car done as a precaution. I had an mot, major service , new coolant and new brake fluid changed at the same time at my Jaguar main dealer. My car only does about 1000 miles a year so the £1600 co...

Re: Buying an X350 wth paint blisters - Fixable or Show Stopper?
Mike and I are different! He likes modding , fixing and fiddling but it is too cold and I am too old for that. If you want a car to admire and use sparingly then look for a good X350, there is not much difference between that and the update model which followed mine. The bare shell is lighter than t...

Re: Buying an X350 wth paint blisters - Fixable or Show Stopper?
Yes I agree with Mike re the non Alooominum parts of our 350/358 s. When I bought mine at 3 years old I got it up on ramps and had a good squirt around with Waxoyl and even just oil on the steel , keeping the oil obviously away from brakes and other inappropriate areas . My car has led a sheltered l...

Re: Buying an X350 wth paint blisters - Fixable or Show Stopper?
Just to stir up the cooking pot a bit... I have a 2007 Diesel Sovereign with 38000 miles on the clock which I have owned since it was three years old. It had NO corrosion issues either panel or rivet when I bought it and it still has none after eight years of ownership. It was featured in the magazi...

Interestingly my outside 50 watt security led lamps have started to flicker on initial startup during the current zero degrees temperatures . The flickering stops after a few seconds. Not sure if there is a technical connection between the two?

Re: 2007 last of the first X-350's for sale
My 2007 Diesel Sovereign is still for sale. Immaculate 38000 miles. Full service history mostly at local Jaguar dealer. Four brand new Pirelli P Zeros included as extras ' though tyres on the car are still ok ( again P zeros) Kept garaged since I bought it in 2010. Silver with oatmeal leather and el...

Re: X350 sidelight laamp replacement/upgrade.
LEDs have moved on since they first arrived and were very bluely tinted! I have changed all the halogen ( MR16 12 volts and the GU mains versions) lights in my house to leds and have had some failures. I put it down to the electronics within the bulbs rather than the leds themselves. The original le...

Re: Buying an X350 wth paint blisters - Fixable or Show Stopper?
Painting is expensive especially if there is more than one panel involved. There is also the chance that new paint does not quite match old ,sometimes depending on the angle you look at the car. As Rob says look around there are plenty others available. Also thanks to Rob for saying the prices are i...

Re: denso sat nav quiery
Not had any of the above mentioned problems using a "Burnt " backup discs over many years. I have also copied cds in my ownership so that the originals can be kept at home. It may only be a theoretical problem I believe ,unless someone can provide evidence to the contrary. However I would always use...
