Dear Mike,
Thanks for the comments. The problem is, I live in Switzerland, and the offers I got for doing the touch ups are... scary.
What about the touch up "kits" that I heard that Jaguar sells?
Cheers,
Gonzalo

Touching up spots on the bodywork
Dear All, I would like to retouch some small spots on my X-type body work (small scratches, stone impacts while drivings and so on). What is the best way to do this? I saw that there are some "markers" - Are they any good? If not, any tips on applying the "official" touch up paint that Jaguar sells?...

Re: How difficult is it to change discs in an X-Type?
Thanks a ton for the advise, Mike. Concerning the upgrade of discs and pads, my main motivation is that I'm quite often driving in Germany, in the Autobahn. And to be frank, the X-Type's stopping power from 130+ MPH is quite appalling. The brakes bite in, you shed ~20 MPH (I am aware that this is a ...

How difficult is it to change discs in an X-Type?
Hi,
I am considering upgrading the stock brake discs and pads (EBC Performance Brake Upgrade), and wanted to know:
1) Anyone tried those? Are they any good?
2) I'm planning on doing the job myself. Any particular difficulties in doing the swap? Any tricks?
Thanks a ton!
Cheers,
Gonzalo

Re: Diagnostic and ECU remapping tools
Thanks a ton for the advise, Mike. This full blown and in depth session included various items of diagnostic equipment from various manufacturers. Some of the kit demonstrated was more successful than others. You happen to remember what were the ones that were working better? The one thing that came...

Diagnostic and ECU remapping tools
Hi everyone, I have recently bought a second hand X-Type 2.5 l, which I absolutely adore. Since it is a love affair, I was considering getting some tools: An ODB diagnostic tool (I saw some interesting ones in the Gendan website) Maybe an ECU remapping interface. Do you have some experience with the...

New to Jaguars
Hi everyone, The name's Gonzalo, I'm currently living in Switzerland. Recently, I've finally taken the leap and became the proud owner of a Jag. The road to fulfilling my childhood dream of having a Jaguar was not straightforward: I have been given a BMW as a company car (my company is pretty much i...
