Hi Rich
Glad to hear you are still enjoying the car but know what you mean about the mpg.
My 2.5 auto did about 17 to 20 round town but about 30mpg on a long distance fully loaded with 4 people and a full boot.
Best wishes

Dash Reflection
Hi Tel, Yes there is a way to reduce the effect. This has been deveised by John Goldsbrough and details and photo will appear in a future edition of the magazine. John says:- "The best I found was a mat black suede like material which is now stuck on and eliminates the reflections". You have to be a...

Tyre Pressures
Hi Cross,
Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you, but there seems to be some lack of clarity about the revised tyre pressures.
Suggest you check with your nearest Jagauar Main dealer

Torquing of Cats
The "Torquing of Cats" plug in module for the 2.0 diesel may interest you. This is sold by Adamesh at £365 and they claim +20% increase in mpg, +30% increase in power and +30% increase in torque. Other tuning companies do not always claim an increase in mpg because after fitting the device the owner...

Bumper removal
Hi Tel, It's a bit quiet isn't it. I don't have a blow by blow method but for the earlier models I believe the procedure goes something like this: Remove the radiator splash shield under the car Remove the wheel arch liners. Disconnect the three electrical connectors. Undo two bumper screws, believe...

P1000 Diagnostic Code
First of all I can confirm that P1000 is not a trouble code itself, it just informs you that not all of the diagnostic system monitors have run or one or more of the diagnostic system checks has not completed. I don't quite understand what the garage has done? You say that the AA tested the EGR valv...

Welcome and Headlamp Bulb
Hi Arthur, Welcome to the X Type Forum! Changing the headlamp bulb is difficult due to lack of space. You need to get the spring clips on the cover off first. On the right hand headlamp some people recommend tying a length of electric wire to the clip nearest the wing so you can pull it back easer a...
