Er........thanks for the replies......but I do not need a de-humidifier....the garage was specifically designed and constructed
with humidity avoidance in mind.
I am looking for a frost protection device which is minimum cost to buy and run.
Hopefully a member can advise on this.......maybe.

Hello All I have just aquired a nice new (detached) garage for my XK8. I am looking for an electric heater for protection from freezing temperatures in winter, not general heating. There are hundereds out there and the choice is bewildering ! I am told I need thermostatic control and fan assistance ...

Re: XJ8 Auto transmission
The late model X308 is a very fine car and it is ( in my view) a crying shame to break up a good one for the sake of a failed gearbox. Jaguar have a lot to answer for for propagating the "filled for life" nonsense of whiich eneugh has been said already. I do not know in which part of the country the...

Re:gearbox
to my knowledge the same ZF five speed auto gearbox was fitted to all the "normally aspirated"
cars .....3.2 and 4.0 litre alike.
the supercharged versions were fitted with five speed Mercedes Gearbox.

Re: Undersealing an XKR
Both my Jaguars were taken up to Worksop to Alan Proctor for his anti-rust treatment before the Jaguar bodywork warranty expired. They were stripped of trim, closed box sections were drilled, and treated with Waxoil/Dinotrol as needed. The underbody was treated with the appropriate stuff after enclo...

Re: Transmission service carried out yesterday.
Rod As your car is running well and has no apparent problems it is likely the fault log has accumulated some error codes from transitory/intermittent problems and/or glitches. If I remember correctly the car software needs to record more than one (3 I think) occurrences of the same fault before the ...

Re: Buying an XK
Ian A car like that, from a Main Dealer with a Jaguar "Approved" warranty is as near risk free as can be got. Both of mine were that spec.....and I have never regretted buying either. Jaguar's requirements from a Dealer before putting an Approved warranty on a used Jaguar are very strict, and the fin...

Re: Buying an XK
If I were you I would keep an eye on the Classifieds in the Jaguar Enthusiast and look for a car from a member. They tend to be better cared for than most and many have anti-rust treatments applied before the metal worm got into the car. XK8 are quite well protected from rust and the few weak spots ...

Re: Replacing Aerial
I quite like the extending aerial. They just need a bit of periodic maintenance. The tolerances between the sliding sections are quite tight and the usual dust and grime makes the aerial stick if its not regularly cleaned and lubricated. ..........it only takes a few minutes. The method I was taught...

Re: X308 Info DVD Updated
All Whereas the information on Jaguars pre X308 is available, there have only been "bits and bobs" of information about the X308 around from various places. since the model was introduced. The only way to get definitive information reliably was to go to a professional with access to Jaguars databases...

Re: X308 Info DVD Updated
Paul Never having seen an X308 Workshop Manual I could not say whether the DVD has the full version. What it does have is a section called "Service Manual Jaguar XJ8-XJR 1998-2002" .........comprising 2490 PDF pages. The header page in the "contents" section says JAGUAR ...... Re: XK8 XKR DVD Update
