Re: Aircon Compressor??
Hi BB. Many thanks. I will get the auxillary belt checked and changed and hopefully this will fix the whining/wirring noise. Thanks once again. Mike

Aircon Compressor??
Hi Guys. On my X350 I seem to have developed a wirring/whining sound which changes pitch with the engine revs and is very laudable at low revs. While the engine is running if I go to climate control on screen and switch off the aircon, the whining noise stops. Within a few seconds of switching the a...

Bonnet Lacquer
Hi guys.. A patch has appeared on my 2003 X350 bonnet where the lacquer has started to come off. The paint seems fine, no rust, no stone chipping, just that the lacquer seems to be coming off. I'm not sure what is causing it (any ideas anyone?) and also not sure if it will get bigger? or in fact wha...

Re: Electrics Gremlin
Many thanks for your responses and advice. The alarm was actually bonnet catches and microswitches. I will check the earth connections behind the headlamps. Many thanks. Mike

Electrics Gremlin
Hi. In the last week or so my x350 alarm has gone off for no reason and yesterday at 70mph on the motorway I seemed to lose electrics momentarily, and all the dashboard dials dropped to zero - including the speedo even though i was travelling at 70. Power steering seemed ok but no indicators, but ha...

Gearbox jerking
Hi Simon
I had a similar problem recently on my XJ8 3.2 with 75k. Had the gearbox serviced and new filter and oil and it is now really smooth. Had the diff oil changed too for £60. Try Stephens Engineering in Thundridge Herts. Great guys and auto experts, and very reasonable prices.Mike

CD Changer
Thanks for your ideas and suggestions guys. Blue ICE have agreed to have the unit back for tests etc and they might put yet another motor in it. I will know in a week or so if I have a solution. I have also now found DTRONIX in Milton Keynes so they might be able to help me. Its a shame a converter ...

CD Changer
Hi. Hope someone can throw some light on my year 2000 cd changer problem. My XJ8 Jaguar Alpine CD unit reads no disc. It has previously been repaired in 2007. So I recently sent it off to Blue Ice Electronics in Romford Essex for repair via Ebay. They returned it saying they had put in a new motor a...

Hello - Just joined the JEC with my XJ8
Hi Everyone. I have just joined the JEC as I am sure my membership will be in the best interests of my lovely 10 year old pristine silver XJ8 (reg 2000). I will take some photo's and post them soon. I bought my XJ8 in March 2009 as a one owner car with just 66k miles and it drives like new. It had a...
