By the way this Alpine sterio changes all the button colours. There is an easy way to change the main buttons only plus a more complicated menu driven way to change them all to multiple colours.
Good Luck

Re: 04 XK8 Headunit Upgrade Project with Bluetooth
Does not the 117Ri head Unit allow you to change the buttons to green back lighting? Or are you looking to change the screen LEDs to green?

Re: Remote control of convertible top

Its the first in the UK, or so I'm told. So I took it to Chatsworth House today for South Yorkshire regions Pi...

Modern Satnav via the Jaguar Screen or replace it with dials
In the dark winter months without this BB I have been looking at other Jaguar Forums and came across an ingenious upgrade from the Jag sat Nav to garman. So I thought I would share this link as some of you may wish to carry this out. http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-17/mega-nav-upgrade-deta...

Re: WELCOME!
Mike I thought I had missed something then! The device I spoke off used the headlight on and unlock buttons to activate the "key in the door" hood and windows down. + the Headlamps on and Lock button to activate the "key in the door" hood and windows up. The following link shows how its developed. h...

Re: WELCOME!
Mike
Thanks for the BST correction I'll look at that now.
My 1999 hood does not come down using the fob, I have to use the button near the gear stick or the key in the door.
Did your x100 have a 5th button on the remote? Mine just has 4 buttons, lock, unlock, headlights and boot!

Remote control of convertible top
Mike Nice to see the web site back, wondered if it would ever happen, during the cold Yorkshire winter! Though on a positive note the break allowed me to use other Jag forums where I found among other things:- A device to control the roof of your cabrio using your existing remote (getting one and ca...

Re: Standard exhaust too quiet
I too wanted to improve the sound quality, so for £100 the local exhaust garage's stainless steel fabrication man cut the exhaust off in front of the back boxes and replaced with a through  pipe, fixing the origonal exhaust caps on the end. The noise is just right and yet another good reason to...

Fuel Saver - Hydrogen hybrid
Having read the article on page 82 of July's magazine I would like to know if any other XK8 owners have fitted one of these "hydrogen cell" systems and the results. I am a fan of alternative fuel systems as I converted my X300 to LPG and saved a fortune. But I now only do 5000 miles a year and at £2...
