hopefully you have got it sorted by now..just my thoughts..if you are using a heavier oil than spec it can delay the oil getting to the hydraulic tappets which would cause a CLATTER and of course the valves would not be opening properly until the oil pressure came upwhich would give erratic running ...

be very careful with warranties D ..I have had bad experiences with them in the past..the usual get out is that it is fair wear and tear..depends how good or trustworthy the insurance co. is..put £500 in a savings acc. and if nothing happens you've still got the money!!!

if its the TCM you need to check which one suits your car..in the spare wheel well there is a sticker which tells you all the numbers of the different modules usedin the car. mine (1999) has 3 letters then 2401 AB but earlier cars use a 2400 ..I'm not sure about 2000 cars but if you check the number...
