AdBlue
AdBlue was mentioned in the magazine SUV section last month, which prompted me to check my figures. I've just added 10 litres at 88,400 miles having last added 10 litres at 81,274 which makes around 700 miles per litre ('250' model with AWD). That's quite a lot better than the figures mentioned. I t...

Re: DAB radio doesn't work in cold weather
For anyone who is curious, today at 6AM the temperature was 13C and the windows were covered in condensation, after the hottest day of the year. As I drove away I noticed the rear screen demisting itself. There was no indication on the dash, so no indication that the rear screen heater is ON but the...

Re: Brake pad wear
My pads lasted longer than I expected and I've now done 40K miles on them (Jaguar pads came out and still 1/8" remaining). I've had them replaced - TWR pads fitted for £150 all-in, just 1/2 hour labour (includes wear sensors).

Re: Turbo vacuum pipe
I don't think I did notice any power loss. But if it was gradual then I may not have. The 250 has oodles of it that I don't normally use - I'm always watching the MPG so I tend not to use the extra unless I need it e.g. when towing. The AA patrol said that the EEC was reporting failure to achieve th...

Re: Onboard telematics in sleep mode
Thanks both for your support. I’m glad to report the issue is resolved- what would we do without the Interweb? I removed fuse 20 (telematics) in the boot for 15 minutes and thankfully it came back to life! Other tricks of holding in the Jaguar Assist button to reset, or reinstalling the Remote app d...

Turbo vacuum pipe
I've recently had a bit of a panic on. I got the dreaded "Restricted Performance" warning (again!) and managed to get home. The car had stored a fault code P0299 Turbocharger Underboost and I feared the worst! However I called the AA and they very quickly heard/spotted a hissing noise. This was foun...

Onboard telematics in sleep mode
My Jaguar Remote app is telling me that the car has gone to sleep and it won't wake up. I've driven the car a few times, but no joy. It went to sleep last Saturday 22 June and not worked since. I read on a web forum that it has happened with XE and the cure was to pull the fuse for the telematics un...

Re: Brake pad wear
How did you get on with this and which brand of pads did you get? I'm ready for pads soon and was shocked to find Jaguar want £200 for front pads (just parts!). Brands such as Mintex, Pagid or Bosch come in around £65-95 (F-Pace models have a variety depending on model/engine size) and I would think...

Re: F-Pace fuel consumption
Sorry I'm a bit late to this discussion. I consistently get better than expected results. Over the last two years I've been getting 42+ which I think is pretty good for any car with 240PS and AWD. That's running on Pirelli All-Season Scorpions at 34psi using ordinary diesel. For the last few weeks I...

Re: DAB radio doesn't work in cold weather
The diagnosis was that I needed a new rear screen, as the DAB aerial is combined with the heater (as already pointed out). It took a while to get the warranty approval and to organise screen delivery, plus the specialist to fit it, but that is now done. The weather has got much better since then so ...

Re: Service schedule
Thanks everyone. I have pulled the service forward to avoid any nasty warranty surprises - I absolutely agree that unless it is written down it never happened! A complication was that 13K miles ago I had a new engine (there's a story for another time) under warranty. So although the 'car' has done 2...

Service schedule
Sorry, me again! F-Pace 250D AWD - 2017 My service indicator says "service in 1150 miles" so I contacted the dealer to get it booked in. It's 12 months and 20,000 miles since I had my last service. The next service on the list is 84K miles / 96 months - I am currently at ~75K miles and 88 months old...

Re: DAB radio doesn't work in cold weather
Thanks Mike and Marineng for the inputs. I'm wondering if there are two different issues. The early morning 'no reception' issue is not only dependent on temperature I think its more about humidity. I say this because on a cold afternoon the radio works fine, so the only difference is that it appear...

Re: DAB radio doesn't work in cold weather
I checked this yesterday morning. It was 6C and the radio didn't work for the first 20 minutes of travel. When it eventually came to life, I confirmed that activating the heated rear screen kills the radio (I was on DAB). Turn off the heated rear screen and the radio comes back to life. On a similar...

Great, thanks Mike. Next time it goes in I'll ask them to look at it.
