I believe that some of the aftermarket versions may have to be lowered first. Perhaps someone else could confirm or deny that rumour.
I have the Classic Additions WD. I leave it raised all the time, and the roof can be opened/closed without it fouling the deflector.

Scottish Jaguar Day
Home from Poland for the weekend so took the opportunity to head North for the Scottish Jaguar Day. I thought I had missed it, as by the time I was nearing Lanark at 2pm, there was a never ending stream of classic Jags passing me in the opposite direction :? Got there and thankfully there were still...

Twas The Night Before Christmas
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, the only thing stirring, was a Microsoft mouse Logging on each day in search of a natter And contribute my bit to the internet chatter Discussions on XK’s, both 8’s and R’s These wonderful Jaguars are truly great cars So have you a coupe ...

JEC DVD
Last year I subscribed to the new quarterly DVD from the club. I received the following issues: Issue 1 (Autumn 05) Issue 2 (Winter 05) Issue 3 (Spring 06) It's now just dawned on me that I never got Issue 4, which would have been due out in the summer. Looking at the magazine and website, I can see...

Re: New XK8 Convertible Member in Derby
One question I have, does anyone know a good place to get a tracker fitted in Midlands area?? Not sure about Tracker, but as you are in Derby, for everything else you need done to your Jaguar, then I recommend Elite & Performance Jags, on Stores Road Industrial Estate. www.eapj.com They have done a ...

Re: water pump.
Re the chains etc. My local specialist cannot understand why I want to spend all that money on changing them when they are OK. He is quite adamant that they are not the problem we all think they are. He holds that if they are quiet when you start the engine from cold ( overnight) they are OK. He als...

Ditto all the above  I'm on my second XK8. My current car, a 2004 convertible is 18 months old and has done 25,000, so I guess I'm a high mileage driver. They say Pride is one of the 7 deadly sins, in which case, I'm way beyond salvation. It's over 2 years since I first bought an XK, but every ...

I've always just scrubbed it with soapy water and given it a good rinse afterwards. My car is just over a year old and I don't feel the need to use expensive conditioners on it yet. My roof is green, so I suppose I get away with more than a light colour like yours. Most of the guys over on XKEC use ...

Correct Coolant Type
I've spent most of the night searching the web, and whilst there's loads of information, I'm still none the wiser as to what coolant I should be using. Bit of background. I've got a low coolant warning and it's certainly low in the header tank, as I can see the top of what I guess are the sensors. M...
