Re: Development Tyres for XKR
Tyre technology moves on. It is true that manufacturers work with tyre suppliers to produce tyres specific to their models. It also allows the tyre supplier to charge a premium for those tyres and supply a J mark. The X150 was launched in 2006 so tyre development was probably completed by late 2005....

Re: Has anyone got a LJE2610-BC remote key fob for sale?
2003 is one of the facelift cars, any of these use the later fobs which should be cheap as you can get a generic fob to work with the car. You can also clone folding keys etc.

Re: New XK 5.0
An Auto electrician or garage with a suitable mechanic should be able to sort. I had my nearside sensor replaced for exactly this reason by a local garage. On return for the MOT I had a similar error come up , this time for the bonnet airbag actuator. Mechanic sorted with a resistor for a temporay f...

Re: 2008 XKR satnav update failure
The 2020 update disc should have a firmware update for your Nav system that must load before you can use the new system. By aborting the load by removing the DVD you have left the system unable to work. Re-insert the DVD and leave it to run. I think it could easily take 30 minutes to do the update d...

WD40 is not a lubricant! Good for freeing thiongs up but not lubrication. Spray grease sounds much better to me.

The black plastic surround to the door mirrors peals off easily and can be fitted to after market replacement mirrors.

Re: Spare wheel & toolkit
Shame no answers. The 5.0 cars dispensed with the red space saver which fitted to both the front and rear of the X150. I have yet to try either of the following. Fit a spare rear 20" wheel on the front to see if it can be used in an emergency or if it catches on the wing. (rears are easier and cheap...

Re: XK8 tyre sourcing issue 245/50 ZR 17 99Y
If you don't want to change the wheel size it is possible to use a different tyre size. 255/45/R17 are much more common and only cause a minor speed under read so OK.

Re: What do you think of this damaged XK8 as a rebuild prospect?
Nice looking car with low mileage. You are probably right in that it needs a headlight , front wing and bumper, bumper bar, damage to undertray? Is it a no washer headlight they are cheaper? To be worth £4500 it would need to be rust free and there is no way of knowing. It's an XK8, rebuilt it won't...

Re: 2011 XKR errors on battery change
Thanks Paul. There are loads of Jag specialists in Kent, over the last 18 years owning an XKR I've tried a few! One in Sittingbourne for Jag/Aston, JAS in Folkestone, Collier Street Maidstone , a guy called Andy near New Ash Green, Locks Bottom near Sevenoaks. There was/is a guy in Charing near me b...

 :( Not looking great. Had my retired specialist mate come down and read the codes. All cleared but had C1A77 come up. Says ABS module connection issue. On restart all back, Service indicator, EBD and Pedestrian warning. Can the pedestrian warning be reset as in TSB JTB00091v3 12 OCT 2012 or i...

To enter hidden access mode hold both the phone and menu keys down. When asked for a code enter 1971. Be careful though not to disable your car by changing anything too vital.
