Hi
Thanks for both replies. Car is 1994 XJ40 4.0 Sport.
Appreciate comments about bulbs but given happens every time brake pedal pressed and with rear fog lamps still suspect relay module. Must be a way of testing them?

Bulb Failure Warning
Suspect wasting my time asking but wonder if anyone has any ideas. Bulb warning came on now and again when braking, then behaved itself. Not now, on every time brake pedal activated, also comes on with rear fog lamps. Needless to say lamps working OK, obvious suspect is the Rear lamp Relay Module, b...

Re: Both N/S Electric Windows Not Working
Yep, fuses are in separate boxes in the relevant footwells.
Thanks for the thought.

Both N/S Electric Windows Not Working
Been out today in XJ40 today, sunroof open and both front windows open, lovely until got home and found n/s would not lift. Neither front or rear n/s windows will work and there is no click when the switches are operated. Early hopes that was simply a fuse were dashed as fuse is fine. I wondered if ...

Keys
Have just acquired a late Series 3 Daimler Double Six. Probably stupid question but only came with one set of keys, which means actually three keys to operate the car. Do like the feel of the plastic headed WASO ignition key, anyone know if someone can supply similar?
Thanks
Simon
Thanks

Re: Heater
Thanks Was driving car this morning with heater off so had a look when I got back. With temp set to cold both sides of valve are hot as is the return pipe however no signs of movement when switched control to hot suggesting valve is not changing position however although pipes hot in either position...

Heater
Bought car in heat wave so ensured air con works, which it does very well. Never thought to check the heater, until yesterday. Doesn't really work but thought I got the occasional waft of heat, which frankly I would rather not have done, as that would suggest a simple repair like the divert valve un...

Re: Celebration Door Lock And Hinges
Hi Thanks yes don't have a workshop manual had assumed I would be able to find a well-thumbed Haynes at least when I bought the car but seemed they never made one, and all I can find on eBay is CD or download ones which given that I struggle to sign in on here is probably not what I need!! Trouble i...

Re: Celebration Door Lock And Hinges
Hi Paul Thanks for replying, yes excessive play so thought easiest just to get new hinges if available, but clearly not. Will probably rework existing ones as really not to bad, door has barely dropped but has enough for the door card to catch on the sill cover. Regarding the door lock assembly any ...

Celebration Door Lock And Hinges
Anyone know if door hinges for late XJS available anywhere, seems SNG and David Manners can't. Also could do with a diagram of the door lock assembly as mine has been seriously bodged and none of us can remember what it should look like. Door is O/S.
Thanks

When to Celebrate?
I should know the answer to this as was working for Lex in the mid Nineties and although based at a Land Rover dealership we worked very much with the Jaguar Daimler dealership down the road and remember the run-out models of XJS. Anyway what makes a Celebration? I kind of remembered it as having di...

Re: E10
Thanks all Seems an emphatic no E10, still the way politicians jump on passing band wagons we will all have to convert our classics to electric when they ban the sale of petrol. Then they will wonder why the books don't balance with the loss of duty and VAT. That said anyone know of an electric XJS?...

Re: Should I be looking at an XJS with a mileage of over 200,000?
As is being suggested, "Mileage is only a number", I spent over a quarter a century in the retail motor trade and trust me clocking in the eighties was standard practice. I remember removing the speedo head from a Ford Granada 2.8 Ghia only for a piece of paper to fall out and written on it was " Oh...
