Re: In-dash CD Stacker not playing disks in my new XK(2006)
Mine died a while ago on the same year of car. Just spat all the discs out one day and refused to take anymore in. I switched over to a unit that links to the phone by bluetooth and transmits an FM signal. I thoought the cd player was probably too expensive to be worth fixing. If you do find someone...

Re: Rough paint on bonnet and roof
Hi Jim,
Thanks. I'll get some elbow grease on it when it cools down! See if it does the trick.

Rough paint on bonnet and roof
I was polishing the car after watching and I noticed the roof and bonnet felt quite rough to my finger tips. The side, bonnet and rear bodywork is smooth. Visually, it all looks the same green.

Slow ‘puncture’ cured
I’ve had problems with some tyres losing a bit of pressure regularly. Advice was to refurb the wheels which were in need of it anyway. Having done this for about £400 inc VAT I can report they now hold pressure fine.

Re: Slow fuel filling
Having done a tour of france recently and filled up about 6 times, there was no problem.
So looks like its more of a problem with certain filling stations than the car itself.

Rear sub frame corrosion MOT advisory
Had this on the last MOT. Garage said MOT stations are noting this if they see any surface rust. Also said they can scrape off surface rust and repaint if I want. Advised that new rear sub frames not available so if it did rust through I would need to seek a second hand replacement. Any views? Thank...

Re: Slow fuel filling
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. It happend a couple of times in different forecourts last week. Including one I use regularly that is normally OK.
I'll try and make sure I put it right in next time and see how it goes.
Thanks

Slow fuel filling
I seem to have developed that problem where the fuel will only go into the tank very slowly.
I think its been mentioned before in the forum but I cant see it now. Anyone know what the cause is and how to fix?
Thanks

Re: IMPACT (Pedestrian) SYSTEM
The diagnostic code quoted refers to the left hand pedestrian accelerometer (item 7 in Astromorg's diagram) which is listed by Jaguar as part number C2P5129 (£84.34 + VAT). Mike. Thanks. Mine is the X150 version. I think Astromogs diagram is the older XK8. Is the part number the same? Luckily my ga...

IMPACT (Pedestrian) SYSTEM
So another fault is coming up on dash as Pedestrian System not working. Garage thinks relevant fault code is B1005-96 LEFT FRONTAL IMPACT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR - Internal failure. They are then a bit confused as in theory the car only has a left and right impact sensor. However, they think it also h...

Re: Adaptive CC not working. XK 2006
While the car was in the garage for another ( Alarm sounder) fault I asked them to change the ACC module for one I obtained from Ebay. It was from a Range Rover sport of the same era and physically identical. The Garge did this but no change and CC still not working. They said the actual fault code ...

Re: Clicking noise from engine bay
The Garage (Autoclassico) managed to source a part and replace.
They said the old one was sitting in water as a drain hole under the Bonnet Airbag thing had blocked up. They have cleared it all out and put the replacement unit in a plastic bag for good measure.

Re: Clicking noise from engine bay
The alarm sounder is located below the pedestrian protector actuator. There are several versions of the sounder ranging from £70 to £150 from Jaguar, dependent upon specification, and are not difficult to fit. Mike. Is it part number C2D47174 from SNG Barratt ? Fits many Jag types. Says 'special or...

Re: Clicking noise from engine bay
Well, it is Christmas and everybody likes extra lights at Christmas! :D What codes are flagged for the engine check light? Mike. Hi Mike, I emailed a full fault code readout. As I said in email. When I cleared the codes the engine light went off but was replaced by orange 'engine temperature indica...

Re: Clicking noise from engine bay
My plan is to take it to Autoclassico after Xmas and let them do it! Interestingly, I took it out yesterday and as before, clicking stopped after about 5 minutes. The difference is a day later it has not returned. Possibly because we are having a mini warm spell and its about 5 degrees up today? Rec...
