For both of you did this work CURE your problem?

Re: Petrol smell in boot
Did chsnging all of the rubber pipes solve the problem? If so where did you get them from, single source? At what cost? No comments re flap valve in filler pipe. By the way the tank problem was the result of a number of over cooked spot welds, almost through the metal, rust did the rest. If any one h...

Re: Petrol smell in boot
I am a new owner of a 1989 XJ-S convertible wioth only 100,000km's on the oddometer. Never winter driven in Canada. Petrol smell is very "heavy" when opening the boot lid. Are there any other options to look for other than the leaking petrol tank? I have not yet had a good look at things, some prio...

Instrument Panel illumination
To say the least my i/p illumination is virtually non-existant. An article in the Feb2010 XJS forum by Mark Boundy gave me some hope. His before and after pictures look to be just what I want. However he refers to"replacing those little green filters" I have tried Jaguar and David manners during a re...

Fuel Tank Pressure
I am raising this issue again from a North American perspective. I live in Canada and own a 1989 XJ-S V 12. I have a petrol smell in the trunk, which I previosly listed. Having further investigated things I find that there was a recall in 1991 here in Canada which resuilted in a whole slew of new pa...
