Re: What I did to my XJ-S today.....
Pros and cons today using the xjs daily in this patch of sunny weather. Had to take my son to the local small airport for a tour, jag perfect car to be along the Bentley and Ferraris there who's owners no doubt then took up their small planes/helicopters. But the dog in an effort to see what's going...

XJS values as a car approach's historic tax/mot
Just something I was musing today, I've not had a car this old before (my car was built late 1985) I was only born in 1979. With the rolling 40 year historic classification and the bonus of tax and mot exemption have people found those cars go up in value or does it not really make much difference? ...

Re: Should I be looking at an XJS with a mileage of over 200,000?
If the £ is right a high miler wouldn't put me off and buy on condition sometimes low mileage cars sat around a long time have their own issues pros and cons. However these cars with that mileage will always be a harder sell when you come to get rid so just bear in mind some people will skip it just...

Re: What I did to my XJ-S today.....
New battery always surprised how small they are for a lump this big. My permanent indicator lights was diagnosed by a fellow member (thanks) fice minutes of my pressing the hazard switch on off and now fixed. One big expense actually the same as the bosch battery was petrol, the price of E5 super wa...

Re: What I did to my XJ-S today.....
Great update, I actually like the original old style clock set up. At least with that you don't get a reminder you are in single digits MPG ! This weekend I spent pressing the hazard button a lot as it was sticking and I also plugged in a small electric heater in the cabin for an hour or two on and ...

Re: Indicator relay location ?
Hi Simon, Great tip much appreciated 10 minutes with a cup of tea and pressing the hazard button on/off followed by some very confusing looks from my wife and last night at least it seemed ok, started car up and indicator lights stayed off and hazard/turn signals worked great. Will give it a run soo...

Indicator relay location ?
Hi all, A new battery sorted the start issues, my last battery had dropped a cell so showing full but the minute tried to crank it died. New Bosch now in the boot, one intermittent issue I had last year has now become more of a permanent issue. All my indicators are now on, not flashing just solid o...

Re: Won't start, boot relay going like the clappers.
Little update, charged battery full reconnected and it starts. That relay though when battery is connected before you put keys in ignition clicks like crazy. Think fuel pump relay ? When keys in the ignition it seems to cut whatever feed is making it click, same while running its quite. So basically...

Re: Won't start, boot relay going like the clappers.
Hi, Thanks for the reply, 5.3 v12, 1985/86 coupe. When I connect battery just above the battery mounted on right hand side behind carpet trim are two relays, the closest one which is silver/metal grey coloured starts clicking constantly at speed. When I put the keys in the ignition and turn to ignit...
