I have used the outdoor cover inside for years probably a bit of overkill but useful for those few occasions I had to leave the car outside (such as when my garage was full of my daughters things when she was moving house and needed to store things for a while).

I know some people of taped message to not do that to their dashboards.
personally I have given up on main dealers and use independents so can avoid this as I can actually talk to the mechanics.
