Anyone know of where you can buy OE heel pads
Hi all, SS#2 (hatchback) will be coming out of the trim shop this week (I hope). It's been a very long (and very expensive) project and I hope the XJS Club will allow me to display it at the NEC Classic show this November, only 2 years later than planned! thumbnail (8).jpg I've changed my carpet col...

Re: TWR Wheels
Correction: the Fondmetal wheels are 7J x 16 x 21,5mm. I think 5mm spacers on the front are all I need. Can anyone confirm that? I know I used that size when fitting the XJR wheels to my face-lift for the front, as they were 8J x 18 x 28,5mm, whereas the Jaguar Otto Fuchs lattice wheels were 8J x 18...

TWR Wheels
Hi all, it's been a long time and I've forgotten something. I used to race a V12 XJ-S and had the TWR wheels 8 x 13 x 33mm off-set fitted all round. I've come to fit these to my latest two-tone TWR Sport XJ-S (like the forum pic. car, but with a hatch-back) and can't recall what size spacer was fitt...

Fitting TWR Rear Bumper
Hi all, slow progress last few months on SS#2 (a lot going on, including losing the garage it was in, bringing home ~ 2nd pic below and finding a new home for SS#1). Question: does anyone have any tips on how to fit the rear bumper of a TWR? I can't seem to do it on my own so I guess:- a. I need to ...
Re: XJS Hatch
Hi guys, an up-date on the next 30 year old this year hatchback . Bored waiting to get on with the re-build but at least now the body-work is all finished (only 1 year later than planned so far). Many, many, many thanks to James Sidwell over at Shilton. He normally restores XK120 etc. bodies and is ...

Re: Retrimming front seats
Hi David, just this week we (Coventry & Hinckley Region) had a talk by Maggie Walker of Interior Revival and what that can do is called magic! See http://www.interiorrevival.co.uk . They have done lots of Jags (incl. early XJS, Lance's Eventer & Sir William Lyons XJ6 driver seat for Heritage), very ...

Re: Bleinheim Classic show
Hi Pop Rivet, seems we were moving in different circles as we were there on the Monday and attached are the 6 XJS's I saw there. I understood the XJS Club were going to be there and/or the JEC but neither were there on the Monday. Despite that we had brill day with sunshine all day. An easy event to...

Re: ORGA Build date codes
On the XJS VIN label or plate, I can tell you what 11602T stands for as it was my responsibility (and still is!) to obtain Type Approval for Jaguar, since going into the dept. in 1982 as a ('79) apprentice and learning from my peers. It is the UK National Type Approval Number. It stayed with this ap...

Re: Car Stereo Upgrade
Hi Winston, I don't think you can buy those (not sure, check Halfords or a stereo fitting shop, they may have something that could be adapted). Brackets tend to be unique to the installation, especially older Jaguars now. I made my from small alumiminium sheet, using the old brackets as templates an...
Re: XJS Hatch
Hi Paul, it hope it won't disappoint you to know it's not a genuine TWR, just a std 5.3L / single exhausts with a genuine TWR bodt-kit and steering wheel. It also came with Fondmetal 16" lattice wheels, as used on some Listers I understand? I like them so they'll be staying as will the re-paint in D...
Re: XJS Hatch
Hi all, I'm aware of this car but never seen it in the flesh. I last saw it for sale on eBay last year as a spares or repair following a nasty n/s front crunch. Hope it re-appears one day. Meanwhile, my hatchback no.2 project is ready for James Sidwell to merge an Audi TT Mk 1 tailgate with the orig...

Re: anyone going to Warwick castle this Sunday
Cracking day yesterday made rather special with 68 XJS's in attendance, thanks all who made it. Especially to Brake Buster with whom I had a good chat and the chap parked next to me who's car it turned out was only 6 ahead of mine on the production line, 22 years and 7 weeks ago (13/07/93) - what ar...

Re: anyone going to Warwick castle this Sunday
Absolutely, whatever the weather. Be rude not to as it's only 15 miles away! The misses and I will also going to Bodelwyddan for a long weekend in the hatchback XJS too. Look forward to seeing some of you there where I understand there are likely to be 4 x Lynx Eventers too. No.2 hatch (Grey TWR) is...

Re: TWR Two-Tone Colour?
Hi Alistair, an up-date. I've had to buy a TWR look-a-like to get the question answered by Jaguar (!) but my new acquisition for restoration / conversion (hatch #2) is a 1987 V12 in Dorchester Grey over Talisman silver (MDF). A bit like our web photo. from the TWR sales brochure (but that's probably...
