Re: 2001 Daimler Super V8 - Lift Off!
Well done David, just goes to prove how Bulletproof these are! I am reluctantly selling my 1999 Super V8, but looking at your post makes want to keep her! I have spent close to £9000 over the last 5 years and know shes good, but people come to view her and pick up on the silliest things, (Air-Con! m...

Re: sticking door lock
For anyone's information with the same problem, I bought a salvaged latch on Ebay and replaced it, and it works fine now, examination of the old one shows the actuator rod seized solid, so i was forcing it open on the key, Not a good idea!!

Re: Engine bay paint code/colour
Thanks everyone, As usual valuable comments and all correct !! It is the HGG and I got my paint chap to get a couple aerosol cans made up. It looks a lot shinier but luckily these two spots on the inner wings are really the only clearly visible bits of colour under there. TOP TIP ! originally the in...

Re: Engine bay paint code/colour
Thanks Jim,
It's odd there are no colour flips in the matt green under the bonnet, the topcoat almost looks blue in certain lights with some purple in there as well.
Cheers
Paul

IMG_4312.JPG IMG_4268.JPG IMG_2185.JPG Can I test the collective brains that is JEC. I have had the inevitable welding done on the Shock mounts on the inner wings under bonnet, and the front arches. This had destroyed the E11 sticker ! (found similar one on Ebay) But the main thing is finding the p...

Autumn Banana (the horses are back)
Guilty of one of the 7 sins, PRIDE! Just wanted to share these images with you ! Update, After the 3rd visit to Sigma Engineering in Dorset, we have finally got the straight six running sweet. As you probably know any of the mid 70's cars had to deal with US emission regs, and the troublesome AED sy...

Re: Can I Replace internal pumps on 77 XJ6 DIY??
DONE ! Easy job to do, as Mike kindly explains in previous reply, I got it a bit late and had already tackled it myself with help from the parts book! the tricky bit was the retaining ring that holds the pump in the tank, the ring is a bit smaller than the housing so when one taps the ring tight usi...

Re: Choke problems, Carb replacement
Thanks Dave, sounds right up my street, I have inherited the SU manual choke conversion, previous owner got rid of the AED in 2001. I have just Googled SE Parts with no luck, could you help with some more details to find the part you mentioned, I wonder if they will fit these carbs on mine. It was a...

Re: Choke problems, Carb replacement
Hi Mike Thanks for your reply, This is a continuation from my last post (Warm up time) I think the earlier cars had Stromberg's, but I am not sure which type these 1977 SU's are, Aparently they were not very good, We always raved about SU ! it was commonly known to be the best carbs about ! I hear a...
