I will be going back to the MOT garage to find out more on the rear bearings.

The guy at the MOT garage replaced all the discs and pads last year and did a reasonable job for me, so he could get the job of doing the bearings!

I have a 1986 5.3 V12 XJ-S HE.

I have noticed that the car has developed a tendency to 'pink' under load.

Does anyone have an idea what might be causing this?

I use un-leaded fuel all the time - might this be the cause?

My 1986 Jaugar XJ-S 5.3 has recently passed the MOT with advisories on the the front and rear nearside wheel bearings.

Can anyone tell me how many bearing there are on each wheel and what other settings are need to ensure they don't wear out too quickly.

Sounds like a problem I had just recently - although when mine cut out it would take longer before I could get it to start. In the end I have had to replace the Idle Speed Control Valve / Auxiliary Air Valve

i know the theory, but not the practice. Can I ask dumbly how I de-pressurise and then re-pressurise the fuel system?

The mechanic said he had changed the fuel filter before he returned the car to me, but I'm not so sure!

The mechanic(!) at the garage where it went for the new brakes said it had run out of fuel while he had it, so sounds like some dirt from the tank has got into the fuel pipes and is causing a blockage. Could the Auxiliary Air Valve (AAV) be contrib...

I am having a problem with my 1986 XJ-S V12 and I wonder if you can help. The problem is that the car will start from cold with no problem, but almost as soon as I set off the engine cuts out and I come to a stop, the engine will then start after a bit of churning only to cut out almost straight awa...
