Thanks. Was looking at an XK or XKR but prices of early F Types coming into range so considering early F Type but V6/V8 have same timing chain components (a la 5.0 XK & XKR) up to F Type VIN ending K06170 according to Sir Ralf Speth's office at JLR.

On the hunt for a V6 or V8 but knowing the engines share same timing chain layout I contacted Sir Ralf Speth's office at JLR and found out revised timing chain/tensioner/guides were fitted from VIN ending K06170. A bit of ringing cars of varying ages via Autotrader and asking for VIN's makes me beli...

Does anyone know the rough cost of replacing the timing chains, tensioners etc. with the improved parts i.e. has anyone actually had this done?
